My cat dumped a glass of cranberry juice in my new keyboard (along with on my crotch, ruining my new flannel pj’s and slippers). At any rate, the moisture did no damage, but now keys stick when I type (or try to). What can I do other than buy a new one? Can I jump in the shower with it for a second to get the stick out, and then use a hair dryer on it again? Or should I just say to hell with it?
Any help would be appreciated.

You can put it in the dishwasher, top rack, no really! make sure it’s completely dry before you plug it back in.

Modern keyboards don’t come apart for cleaning very well. Why not try the dishwasher experiment if only for a tale to tell?

You cheapskate! A new brand X is only about $49.95 at Radio Shack and works great.
The dishwasher option does sound rather intriguing. You can use the $49.95 option as a back up to the waterlogged one in case it “smokes.”
Good luck!

Addendum to the above: Recommend you not use the drying portion of the dishwashing cycle as it may bee too hot and may melt internal wiring insulation.

Air dry for a day or so or the use of a hair dryer on very low heat are the best options.

If aircraft engines can be cleaned the same way, why not try the wash-only cycle.
In the “after the horse is stolen” category: NEVER EVER place anything liquid within 3 feet of, or on the same level as, ANY computer component!!

Considering that keyboards are about $7 at compusa, I’d just go buy a new one.

Cheapskate?? I just wanted to use the damn thing- I did pay for it!!!
Seriously, it was nice to for at least three days have a nice non-mix-and-match computer. I guess I am back to the days of a microsoft keyboard, boomslang mouse, optiquest monitor, dell tower, monsoon speakers…

You can also wash it in a sink. Just fill with warm, soapy, water and swish through. Rinse thoroughly, shake out as much water as you can, and let dry for a while. At least a day.
I don’t have a dishwasher, and I always have coffee next to the computer…
