Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

You cannot shame the shameless.

The arc of history bends toward the same old fuckery.

When your entire life is steeped in white supremacy, equality feels like discrimination.

We need to vote them all out and restore sane Democratic government.

The worst democrat is better than the best republican.

“Perhaps I should have considered other options.” (head-desk)

The republican caucus is covering themselves with something, and it is not glory.

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

Someone should tell Republicans that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, or possibly the first.

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

A democracy can’t function when people can’t distinguish facts from lies.

Lick the third rail, it tastes like chocolate!

So it was an October Surprise A Day, like an Advent calendar but for crime.

People are weird.

Those who are easily outraged are easily manipulated.

The lights are all blinking red.

The current Supreme Court is a dangerous, rogue court.

Relentless negativity is not a sign that you are more realistic.

Let there be snark.

Is it negotiation when the other party actually wants to shoot the hostage?

The desire to stay informed is directly at odds with the need to not be constantly enraged.

We can show the world that autocracy can be defeated.

Following reporting rules is only for the little people, apparently.

Just an awful day for everyone in America and Israel.

Instapundit has all the relevant links.

How long before the lunatic fringe is pointing out that this is a sign from God, as the crew with the first Israeli astronaut died over Palestine, Texas?

At least the folks up there pronounce it “Pal-uh-steen.”

I figure that the conspiracy nuts will point to the joint Israel-Palestinian astrobiology experiment and haul the Palestinian guy in for questioning.

Hey, they’re already doing it. Check out Muslim webforums; they’re rife with it. For balance, though, a daily mailing by a beyond-the-pale

It wasn’t a happy day for most Indian people, either.

So true- an oversight on my part- although I was thinking of her as an American. Wasn’t she just gorgeous, too? Such a shame.
