My cat is fascinated by water. Every time I turn on a faucet, take a shower, or flush the toilet, he comes running- he especially loves watching water drain. I am now effectively wife-trained with the toilet, as I have to put the lid down when I am finished- otherwise he splashes around in it. Is this normal?

Absolutely common to a sizeable number of cats. Some even like to get in water in a tub.

Yes it is. One of my cats races to the shower and waits for me to turn it on. Then he runs out like the devil. Seems normal to me.

Our cat is facinated with the shower. I doubt he would ever get in while the water is running, but when I step out he runs to the door and starts sniffing around, as if he is deciding to go in.
Maybe he just wants to see if the water tastes as good as what’s in his dish.

I also have to keep the lid down, or all of my cats will throw themselves a pool party. One of my cats has taught herself to turn the water on in the sink in order to play in it, as well….

I have two cats. One long hair and the other short hair. A month ago The long hair cat had wet looking fur(almost greasy) on his back. It lasted for a week or so. Now the short hair cat has the same thing, but it cleared up on the long hair cat. They are clean cats etc. Should I be worried?

Help Please! My only cat of 4 years, Mittens, a make Maine Coon, has decided in the past year that he does not like anything “extra” laid on the floor (bath mats, throw rugs, the Christmas tree skirt, or any piece of clothing), and he will pee on it. (His litter box is kept clean.)
I have thrown out all of my rugs as a result, but it is annoying living this way. I love him, but want him cured! Any advice?
