Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

It’s all just conspiracy shit beamed down from the mothership.

The party of Reagan has become the party of Putin.

Dear Washington Post, you are the darkness now.

Tick tock motherfuckers!

If you are still in the gop, you are either an extremist yourself, or in bed with those who are.

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

“woke” is the new caravan.

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

Trump’s cabinet: like a magic 8 ball that only gives wrong answers.

Prediction: the gop will rethink its strategy of boycotting future committees.

Baby steps, because the Republican Party is full of angry babies.

I have other things to bitch about but those will have to wait.

SCOTUS: It’s not “bribery” unless it comes from the Bribery region of France. Otherwise, it’s merely “sparkling malfeasance”.

Following reporting rules is only for the little people, apparently.

Petty moves from a petty man.

The gop is a fucking disgrace.

Jesus watching the most hateful people claiming to be his followers

If you can’t control your emotions, someone else will.

She burned that motherfucker down, and I am so here for it. Thank you, Caroline Kennedy.

Stop using mental illness to avoid talking about armed white supremacy.

Polls are now a reliable indicator of what corporate Republicans want us to think.

Insiders who complain to politico: please report to the white house office of shut the fuck up.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

Michigan is a great lesson for Dems everywhere: when you have power…use it!

The Cat

Today my cat learned not only where Dad keeps the Pounce treats, but how to open Pounce treats without having opposable thumbs. Blunt force trauma to the container seems to have been the method of choice.

So far, the enemies list for the week includes two rolls of toilet paper, one roll of paper towels, a sandwich bag, four pens, a candle, a lighter, five toy mice, and a container of Pounce treats. All have been terminated with extreme prejudice.

Ah, cats. Mine keeps going under the kitchen cabinet and getting stuck behind the cupboard doors, even though they open from the inside. I think she does it because the thump-thump sound of her trying to push the door open drives me nuts.

Mine has the little habit of waking me up at 3 a.m. by kneading whatever body part he’s closest to. Thank God he is declawed (not my doing; we found him at our doorstep when we moved to our new house)

    I feel you pain.

I once had two, one with extra toes that he learned to use like opposing thumbs; she with claws like knives.

He would climb on the ‘fridge, open the cabinet, and yank down the Meow mix; she would then slice open the box. Both would feast.

I would come home, clean up the mess, then buy more. When they double-team you, you’re doomed.

Now see, aren’t cats fun once you get used to them?

He has been driving me absolutely batty today. Sitting on my desk on every paper I need, knocking my pens down, attacking my mouse, attacking every computer cable, sitting on the monitor, attacking the shoe lace on my foot. At one point I was so frustrated I wanted to cry.

Buy one of those travel animal crates and put him up when he’s like that. It’s not cruel, it’s not mean. Just think of it as a way to protect your sanity. :)

(I have to do this to my dog sometimes. I love having a weimaraner, but sometimes he get the zoomies and drives me crazy!)
