I don’t think you are all pro-Saddam.
I don’t think you are all anti-American.
What I do think is that you are petulant, paranoid, immature, unrealistic, incapable of rational thought, and most of all, I think you are hysterical to read:
– “Oh my God- I said the war is wrong and Bush is Hitler and someone told me to shut the fuck up. What can we do about this fascism?”
– “I was just burning flags while blocking traffic, and someone flipped me the bird. Why won’t the media report this? Why are they crushing dissent?”
– “I vomited on the doorstep of the local Starbucks and then I crapped on the courtyard in front of city hall. This was clearly the best way for me to show my distaste with Bush’s war.”
Bunch of morons.
*** Update ***
‘Peace’ protestors have now provoked a near riot in NYC.
Terry
I believe that you are being unnecessarily kind when you merely characterized these individuals as “morons.” The level of discourse from the Left these days is far more nasty and vicious than what I recall from the late 1960s and early 1970s. On a site such as the relatively new one run by “digby,” the common reference to the President is as a “thug.” The level of discussion seldom moves beyond a litany of paranoia-based complaints about “losses of free speech, civil rights, and abortion rights,” to name but a small handful.
Probably the most disturbing trend across the Leftie sites is the rapidly spreading incidence of anti-semitism. If I were Jewish – and especially if I were an Israeli – I would be afraid, very afraid. These times must bear a scary resemblance to 1930’s Germany for some of the survivors of that dark period. As bad as it appears in this country, it is light years worse in Europe, especially on the Continent.
The only potential good to come out of these terrible times is the very real likelihood that the Left will be essentially wiped out as a viable force for at least a generation. The Democratic presidential nomination process is disproportionately controlled by the leftish elements of the party, and may very well result in the selection of a candidate functionally un-electable because of his views on national security matters, among other policy areas.
All in all, the times are likely to improve.

You guys are on crack. Seriously.
More people voted for Gore, Terry, remember? And you think the left is dead?
Holy frijoles. Whatever you’re on, I want some. Whiskey won’t kill the pain with a Bush in office.
Digby called Bush a thug? Gasp. Go to http://www.freerepublic.com sometime and check out the names they call our last legally elected president. Hint: It’s a wee bit worse than “thug”.
Oh wait, I’m sure you’re already a member.
Andrea Harris
Oh, please. Cry me a river.
Andrea Harris
That was directed at “nate-dogg,” by the way.

Boo-hoo! My president embarasses me in front of the world every time he opens his gaping piehole and reads from a teleprompter. Boo-hoo! Poor me!
How’s that?
I didn’t figure you were complaining about John or Terry’s nonsensical bs.
Phil
There’s a very simple and elegant reason why those rallies are being promoted as “pro-America” rallies in contrast to “anti-war” rallies: Because if they were called “pro-war” rallies, Atrios and his ilk would go even MORE nuts than they already are.

“More people voted for Gore, Terry, remember?”
I guess you don’t have an Electoral College in your universe. In this one, most Electors voted for Bush.
Get over it.
