Steve Gilliard at the Daily Kos has compiled the complete list of reasons you should hate Martha Stewart and should not be upset she was indicted. I have to admit, I am feeling a mild bit of glee about her indictment because she is such an obnoxious shrew, but even though I hate the woman, I think there is much worse going on in the Wall Street boardrooms than this matter. Cripes- they just let a bunch of brokerage houses that screwed us for hundreds of billons off with measly fines.
Remember this:
Citigroup Global Markets is the corrupt Saloman Smith Barney. They just changed their name to hide the perfidy. Don’t forget.

for a communications person you might want to check your typing/spelling, laddie…tsk, tsk
MB managed to deduce what you really meant!

Come now, we all know that once a company changes its name it subsequently expunges all aspects of corporate malfeasance. In fact, I think Martha Stewart should just change her name to Stuart Global Markets. Solves all the problems.

Wow- I really mangled that post.

John,
This is seriously upsetting. I’m agreeing with you and not Kos (or Steve), again. Corporate malfeasance is awful, and Martha Stuart is a BS way of getting at the problem. Yeah, she did some unethical stuff, but nothing as bad as Enron or Tyco. Moreover, her crime was not structurally revealing like the others. She just got a tip and used it. Stupid, yes, illegal, yes, but threatening to our economy or institutions? No.

I think I’ll have a refreshing Altria cigarette and a Miller, uh, Red Dog beer.
