Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Trump’s cabinet: like a magic 8 ball that only gives wrong answers.

“The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.”

“When somebody takes the time to draw up a playbook, they’re gonna use it.”

Disappointing to see gov. newsom with his finger to the wind.

That’s my take and I am available for criticism at this time.

People are complicated. Love is not.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

These days, even the boring Republicans are nuts.

If you voted for Trump, you don’t get to speak about ethics, morals, or rule of law.

He really is that stupid.

This country desperately needs a functioning fourth estate.

Jack Smith: “Why did you start campaigning in the middle of my investigation?!”

Rupert, come get your orange boy, you petrified old dinosaur turd.

Republicans seem to think life begins at the candlelight dinner the night before.

Bark louder, little dog.

The lights are all blinking red.

Reality always lies in wait for … Democrats.

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

The media handbook says “controversial” is the most negative description that can be used for a Republican.

Giving in to doom is how we fail to fight for ourselves & one another.

Bad people in a position to do bad things will do bad things because they are bad people. End of story.

Radicalized white males who support Trump are pitching a tent in the abyss.

It is not hopeless, and we are not helpless.

The current Prescription Drug Benefit/Medicare Giveaway/AARP Vote Buying Scheme, whatever you want to call it, the estimated $400 billion dollar (which will balloon to a trillion in no time) albatross Bush and the Legislature are about to hang around our neck, is not means tested.

That’s right- You and I are going to be paying for Donald Trump’s viagra and Ross Perot’s Ritalin. Happy Happy, Joy Joy!

If I could have use of a time machine just once, I would visit FDR before he proposed Social Security and coerce him by hook or crook to instead simply put seniors whose life savings had been wiped out by the Crash and the Depression on welfare for the rest of their lives, and to pay for it out of the general budget. The creation of an entitlement that went to all individuals over a certain age has been a catastrophic precedent for this nation, and seems to be unfixable without either a dictatorial exercise of power or a cataclysmic event that will jolt people into realizing that Ponzi schemes have to fail sooner or later.

We have a current example of a government going broke due to out of control spending. That example is called California. Sooner or later, we all, including the politicians, have to realize that we cannot afford to buy votes. Shame on both sides of the aisle!

Say Sooth, the current Texas estimated budget is $12 billion(Google for 2003 Texas state budget deficit.), which is about 2/3 of the CA deficit per capita, and probably close to parity as a percentage of state economic output.

But the $400 billion (or 750 or 1 trillion, depending on how you figure), tax cut which lands almost exclusively in Trump’s and Perot’s pocket doesn’t bother you?

At least this way, Ol’ Ross can only buy one $60 bottle at a time!

    HA!!

No, Dan, I am not bothered at all when the government takes less of someone’s money. I am bothered when the government takes someones money and gives it to someone else.

Cole, you still haven’t figured it out. ALL the money is the government’s. They are just nice enough to let us have some of it some of the time.

Poor little Danny boy still spewing that same lame weak libera line “Tax cuts for the rich! Question to Tommy the rich pay almost70% of their hard earnings to the greedy blood sucking government that you left wing dingbats love so much I ask you this: How much more in taxes do you money hungry lemmings think they should pay in taxes? The way I see it I believe you and the Democrats would say 100% of their earnings so that your constituents aka welfare hogs and illegal basically lazy degenerates can keep living free off of our sweat.
