Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

I really should read my own blog.

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

Presidents are not kings, and Plaintiff is not President.

Teach a man to fish, and he’ll sit in a boat all day drinking beer.

We are aware of all internet traditions.

Why did Dr. Oz lose? well, according to the exit polls, it’s because Fetterman won.

Roe isn’t about choice, it’s about freedom.

This really is a full service blog.

No one could have predicted…

Today’s GOP: why go just far enough when too far is right there?

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

Good lord, these people are nuts.

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

The worst democrat is better than the best republican.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

It may be funny to you motherfucker, but it’s not funny to me.

Perhaps you mistook them for somebody who gives a damn.

An almost top 10,000 blog!

Their freedom requires your slavery.

Anyone who bans teaching American history has no right to shape America’s future.

“Squeaker” McCarthy

I did not have telepathic declassification on my 2022 bingo card.

And now I have baud making fun of me. this day can’t get worse.

It’s the Economy, Stupid

More good economic news, this time a look behind the numbers of the 6.4% unemployment rate recently released:

When the United States unemployment rate climbed to 6.4 percent last week, the highest point in almost a decade, analysts were generally glum about the prospects for job seekers. They were being far too pessimistic, however: a close look at four other economic indicators point to the end of what some have called the “jobless” recovery. These indicators show significant declines in the rate of job losses

    John,

Mark Steyn points out that if you take California out of the mix, last week’s job figures actually indicated that we gained 4,500 new jobs — rather than losing 25,000.

    Hmmmmmm… Wonder why that is.

BTW, nice tease of the Eschat-heads at Atrios, re: Bush’s Africa Trip. I’m surprised you aren’t buried in acidic bile.

I like stopping there because that site, along with a couple other lefty sites like Buzzflash and Democratic Underground, seem to reflect the Dems’ slide into far left irrelevancy, and a frantic, vicious, self-destructive rage. I’ve bemoaned the fact that the Republicans need an effective opposition, otherwise they will, in Mayor Quimby’s words, “grow fat and sleek off graft and corruption.” But the lefty activists seem determined to kill off the Dem’s national hopes. “Oh yeah folks, just vote for that red faced, screaming fellow over there, who just called the Republicans a pack of pederastic, bank robbing satan worshippers.” Yep, that’ll pack the voters in in Boise…

Anyhow, you have anice blog I visit once in a while, and yer gettin’ blogrolled for going under the bridge as Es-shiton, and teasing the trolls.
