Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

So it was an October Surprise A Day, like an Advent calendar but for crime.

Cancel the cowardly Times and Post and set up an equivalent monthly donation to ProPublica.

Putting aside our relentless self-interest because the moral imperative is crystal clear.

If you’re gonna whine, it’s time to resign!

Humiliatingly small and eclipsed by the derision of millions.

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

Just because you believe it, that does not make it true.

… riddled with inexplicable and elementary errors of law and fact

Republicans in disarray!

It is not hopeless, and we are not helpless.

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

Beware of advice from anyone for whom Democrats are “they” and not “we.”

We are learning that “working class” means “white” for way too many people.

If America since Jan 2025 hasn’t broken your heart, you haven’t loved her enough.

I’d hate to be the candidate who lost to this guy.

“In the future, this lab will be a museum. do not touch it.”

Fundamental belief of white supremacy: white people are presumed innocent, minorities are presumed guilty.

I am pretty sure these ‘journalists’ were not always such a bootlicking sycophants.

If a good thing happens for a bad reason, it’s still a good thing.

I see no possible difficulties whatsoever with this fool-proof plan.

Jack Smith: “Why did you start campaigning in the middle of my investigation?!”

It’s the corruption, stupid.

The way to stop violence is to stop manufacturing the hatred that fuels it.

GOP baffled that ‘we don’t care if you die’ is not a winning slogan.

This is pretty funny:

The Bush administration should move rapidly to bring other countries into the postwar occupation of Iraq to take the focus off American troops, Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., said Sunday.

“We have to diffuse the perception in reality of American occupation,” Kerry, one of nine candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination, said on CNN’s “Late Edition.”

“The obligation of the United States government is to rapidly internationalize the effort in Iraq, get the target off of American troops, bring other people, particularly Muslim-speaking and Arab-speaking Muslim troops, into the region,” Kerry said.

I have always wanted to speak Muslim.

LOL! You just know that if Bush said this, we would never hear the end of it.
