Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

I am pretty sure these ‘journalists’ were not always such a bootlicking sycophants.

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

They don’t have outfits that big. nor codpieces that small.

“In the future, this lab will be a museum. do not touch it.”

When do we start airlifting the women and children out of Texas?

“Can i answer the question? No you can not!”

The words do not have to be perfect.

Reality always gets a vote in the end.

Come on, man.

Nothing worth doing is easy.

The desire to stay informed is directly at odds with the need to not be constantly enraged.

Make the republican party small enough to drown in a bathtub.

Republicans: slavery is when you own me. freedom is when I own you.

Disagreements are healthy; personal attacks are not.

People are weird.

It may be funny to you motherfucker, but it’s not funny to me.

Republicans firmly believe having an abortion is a very personal, very private decision between a woman and J.D. Vance.

Hi god, it’s us. Thanks a heap, you’re having a great week and it’s only Thursday!

We will not go quietly into the night; we will not vanish without a fight.

Bark louder, little dog.

How any woman could possibly vote for this smug smarmy piece of misogynistic crap is beyond understanding.

If ‘weird’ was the finish line, they ran through the tape and kept running.

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

All hail the time of the bunny!

Surprising Springer

Here is the line of the day about Jerry Springer, who is thinking about running for the Ohio Senate seat:

Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., worked on Springer’s 1977 campaign for Cincinnati mayor and his 1982 race for Ohio governor. She told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer this month that people would be surprised by Springer’s intellect. “There’s much more to him than his TV show,” she said. “He’s a policy wonk.”

Jerry Springer, policy wonk.

    Policy wonk? What policies?

If he comes out in favor of outlawing the wearing of spandex by people weighing more than 200#, he might actually get some votes.

Lemme see if I can remember how he blew it before in Ohio politics. Wasn’t it writing bad checks at a whorehouse?

I think she meant to say “policy wank”. Just a hunch.

He was elected mayor of Cincinatti after that check incident.

I’ve seen Jerry’s show. Once is enough. And I knew Jerry when I lived in Cincinnati and dealt with him when he was in politics, when he was practicing law, and when he was an anchor man. There really is a whole lot more to him than you would think based only on the show.

Of course, that isn’t necessarily a good thing.
