I’ll take this report of WMD finds with the usual hockey-puck sized grain o’ salt:
group of Swedish researchers, travelling to Iraq without the knowledge of the Swedish government, is announcing that they have found missiles for weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in a house in Baghdad.
The finds will be presented in a forthcoming production by World Television Network (WTN). The information supposedly came to Swedish WTN reporter Maria Wera Cedrell, who has worked in Iraq for 15 years, through an Iraqi scientist. She was assisted by former arms inspector and WMD expert

Alterman said months ago that he’d assume that any WMDs found were planted anyway, and the Democrats have been following his lead as to decorum for a while now. If this or another lead pans out, perhaps we should start a pool as to which of the Nine Dwarves floats the planting suggestion first–I’ve got dibs on Sharpton.

As a Swede, following every move of this WTN-mess and particularily Maria Wera Cedrell, many questions for sure arose. It is true, that two persons from FOI accompanied her. However, WTN isn’t a registered company in Sweden, and the adresses and phonenumbers on ALL documents – go to Wera Marie Cedrell’s personal home…?
Added can be that that the two WMD-experts that accompanied her – actually didn’t find *anything* at all that would suggest any kind of WMD in their precense.
Wera Maria Cedrell, however, presented photages as “evidence”, of some kind of small canisters – but the two WMD-experts had never been in that alledged storage, nor had they seen the canisters, but one remembers that he has seen similar images – from last Gulf-war.
One other fact that is quite funny – WTN don’t recognice Wera Maria Cedrell either – but she holds a registry for a company called WT & N in Sweden…
Nor has she any kind of education in media, but is previously known to hold massaging as profession.
I assume, that due to her persistance not to leave any materials out to any kind of scientific, military or other organisations, but claims to release the “evidence” in future if you “buy the book” that she is simply bulling us all.
The WMD-experts at least are very dissapointed in what has been presented, so do take Wera with a pinch of salt … she could make alot of money on a bogus story too…

Marie Cedrell has an amazing ability to find on the ground information that most if not all reporters have been able to obtain. The reason I can verify this is because my partners and I have met with her and reviewed the details of the stories and verified her relationships with an assortment of Officials, Media and 1st Division Marines whom she was embedded with last year.
Everyone has heardthe stories about WMD, and I propose is that when her discoveries are properly verified I hope she gets the Nobel Peace prize for uncovering many of the mysteries of Saddam including WMD that I have seen documented and have read.
It seems very interesting that the main stream media from the US and abroad is reluctant to acknowledge an Independent, non-traditional, true investigative reporter that will shed a ton of light on the ineptness of the UN inspectors not to realize Saddam knew every move they made before they made a “surprise inspection”. I hope to see her book out soon to surprise all the critics.

This rumor is still going around the internet 6/2004. Will republicans ever give up on the hope for WMD’s? Unwillingness to admit fault or being wrong is def their weakness.
