The Iraq’s want to offer some help regarding the NY Black-Out:
“Let them taste what we have tasted,” said Ali Abdul Hussein, selling “Keep Cold” brand ice chests on a sidewalk. “Let them sit outside drinking tea and smoking cigarettes waiting for the power to come back, just like the Iraqis.”
Here are some tips from the streets of Baghdad:
_ SLEEP ON THE ROOF. Without power

In truth, the smartasses were the reporters who went out looking for this story. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Iraqis were coaxed a little into giving snarky responses.

Yeah, well, anyway, we don’t have houses with flat roofs in the northeast because the snow would collapse them. Except for big apartment buildings, where there’s way too many people to all sleep on the roof anyhow. So Abdul and his media enablers can take this ignorant advice and do something with it.

“I hope it lasts for 20 years. Let them feel our suffering.”
Yeah, okay. How about I come over there and kick your skinny ass up and down the block?

What, AGAIN?

5.) Quit with the conspiracy thinking, already. (Latest specimen: no electricity in Baghdad because U.S. is “selling it to Israel.”)

Touchy, touchy. I thought it was an extremely amusing form of Schadenfreude. Grow a little skin and a sense of humor while you’re at it.
(Also, that shower thing is key. Helped me live through a nasty, nasty DC summer with no AC.)

John-
Read this before judging the Iraqis too harshly.
“Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
-Someone a hell of a lot smarter than me.

what is everyone so upset about? they do have a point- the army destroyed their power infrastructure in a classic tactical maneuver. They’re out of power indefinitely- we do our jobs right. They have a right to bitch because they don’t have power. I mean, we have the same right, don’t we? My dad’s a general, and the first thign he said after the power went out was, “Shit, well, now we know how it is in Iraq. Can’t even drink the damned water.” If people want be pissy about not having something- then you should have it taken away forever. I’m not talking about smart remarks- those are the spice of life. But threats are just stupid.
