    Oh yeah… they dusted off the profile ‘white-male 30’s-40’s right wing christian’ from the last sniper killings committed by Islamics…

    Are you sure the sniper isn’t Kinsey Milhone? She bops around in a VW Beetle. If she *is* fictional, so what? Makes at least as much sense to look for her as to automatically assume it is the angry while male Christian doing it.

    As a white male military veteran gun owner, mid-30s, I am usually pretty freaked out every time some crime involving guns and an unknown assailant happens in the area where I live (DC/VA/MD area). The profile almost always describes… well, me and about half my drinking buddies. I used to live near where the first of the D.C. sniper attacks occurred, and was waiting to get the door kicked in – sure, I was at work when the first attacks happened, but the police forces in the D.C. area don’t have a stellar record at getting their facts straight in homicide cases. They tend to kick in the door, ask questions later.

    On the positive side of the coin, I’m going to have a good, bitterly ironic belly laugh if the W. Va. assailant turns out to be a Moslem nutcase.
