Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

When you’re a Republican, they let you do it.

The unpunished coup was a training exercise.

Consistently wrong since 2002

At some point, the ability to learn is a factor of character, not IQ.

Black Jesus loves a paper trail.

Our job is not to persuade republicans but to defeat them.

You know it’s bad when the Project 2025 people have to create training videos on “How To Be Normal”.

It’s pointless to bring up problems that can only be solved with a time machine.

Democracy cannot function without a free press.

When we show up, we win.

Disappointing to see gov. newsom with his finger to the wind.

It is not hopeless, and we are not helpless.

Republicans choose power over democracy, every day.

… pundit janitors mopping up after the gop

Republicans want to make it harder to vote and easier for them to cheat.

If a good thing happens for a bad reason, it’s still a good thing.

They love authoritarianism, but only when they get to be the authoritarians.

I would try pessimism, but it probably wouldn’t work.

Hey hey, RFK, how many kids did you kill today?

Not rolling over. fuck you, make me.

We are aware of all internet traditions.

Bark louder, little dog.

People identifying as christian while ignoring christ and his teachings is a strange thing indeed.

People really shouldn’t expect the government to help after they watched the GOP drown it in a bathtub.

John Hawkins has scooped the mainstream press (again) with a whole history of Rush, pain killers, and hearing loss.

A must read.

I don’t know that he scooped anybody – he links to New York daily news and promises to write more after he picks up the latest issue of the National Inquirer.

Scooped? All of his breathless updates come from the mainstream press.

The moneyshot is when Hawkins claims “There’s more in there, but Rush looks to be in good shape at this point…”

Good shape? Let’s see. Limbaugh’s addicted to narcotics–they’ve nearly killed him at least once, he’s just cemented his reputation as a racist, a phony and a hypocrite, he’s a target in a criminal probe, he’s a laughingstock, he’s lost his ‘dream job’…and Hawkins deems him to be “in good shape.”

Whew. I’d hate to see what Hawkins thinks is “bad shape.”

But I’d not worry about Limbaugh going to prison. Conservatives have a long history of admiring convicted felons: Liddy, North, Hedgecock, etc.

Not to mention Cole’s fave: Timmy McVeigh.

Pointing out that there was no scoop = trolling.
