Some context for the “Bush Doesn’t Care” crew:
Novak is the perfect receptacle for such a leak. An old-time Washington insider known for his gruff manner, black suits, conservative leanings and love of Washington intrigue, Novak has been jokingly called
Jon H
Two problems.
First, the leak of Plame’s CIA role was brought up in a press conference soon afterward in July. McClellan started his response with something like “I’m glad you brought that up”, suggesting he’d been prepped, and the White House was aware that a CIA agent had been outed.
Second, the CIA contacted DOJ not long after the incident. The DOJ didn’t exactly jump on it. The CIA recently went back to the DOJ. It wasn’t the first contact between the two.

Which sentence shows that Bush cared or didn’t care. I don’t see any evidence either way. The boldface portion makes it clear that the CIA cares, but that’s hardly an issue.

There’s no doubt the President cares very deeply about this right now. The question, and test of his character is this: is he concerned because a covert operative was outed, or because this could inflict some serious political damage?

I don’t know whether Bush cares (I hope he does, but it can be tough to tell; I don’t know how many orignial thoughts he actually has…). But I wonder how much Bush supporters care about the actual situations and circumstances that the administration has put our nation in.
Many people, on the left and the right (and elsewhere on the ideological spectrum) just seem not to care – about the things that are really important.
But who cares?
