According to the Calpundit:
We’re now up to 15 women who say Arnold “fondled, spanked or touched them” between 1979 and 2000. I guess before long it’s going to be easier just to list the women who aren’t on Arnold’s list.
According to my caclulations from the lessons learned during the Clinton years, Arnold is approximately one rape charge away from a NOW endorsement.
*** Update ***
In fact, even during their breathless condemnations of Arnold, they invoke the memory of Clinton, yet fail to see the irony:
For the charges to sway the recall at this late date, it will take more than the ad campaign being mounted by women’s groups. Politicians and the press would have to treat the story as a major scandal with potentially devastating consequences for California, the nation, morality and Western civilization. One wonders what would happen if even a fraction of the energy expended on Bill Clinton’s sex scandals was applied to Mr. Schwarzenegger.
I wonder what would happen, too. Would the author of this piece endorse him as she did Clinton? How about the author’s editor, Katrina van den Heuvel? What about Patty Ireland, former NOW President, who shilled for Clinton for 8 years?
BTW- there is one difference between Arnold and Clinton- people actually brought charges against Clinton, providing him all sorts of opportunities to perjure himself.

Maybe it’s me, but the hypocrisy of Clinton defenders weeping crocodile tears about Ah-nold’s behavior is simply breath-taking.
If someone had condemned, w/o reservation, Bubba’s activites, they’ve certainly got every right to decry Arnold’s. And it would be right and proper for conservatives, in particular, to do so.
But if you’re a liberal who thought that “it was about sex,” and “lying about sex is perfectly okay and understandable” and believed that Bubba’s activities regarding Paula and Gennifer and the rest was part of the VRWC out to get him and Hillary, well, forgive me if your protests sound not just hollow but downright laughable.

…and the hypocrisy of the Clinton-haters making excuses for Ah-nold is overwhelming.
I feel quite confident that the investigations into Arnold’s past are overtly political. Just as was the investigation into Clinton’s past; the difference is that y’all had an independent counsel who could change any dissembling on a marital affair into Federal perjury. Good on you; let’s go ahead and start applying that to every politician and see how many of your guys end up standing.
John Cole
I am not sure how I am a hypocrite- I am still against perjury, and I am not an Arnold supporter. I have stated repeatedly I would vote n on the recall and yes for Bustamante.
What is absolutely breathtaking is the hypocrisy of the NOW gang and all the feminists libs who claim to care about women. The difference between their reaction and behavior now and when it involved a Democrat is striking. I bet Bob Packwood would probably agree.

Wouldn’t it be relevant if the guy in question had backed good legislation over the course of his career? That would put one into something of a quandary, especially when dealing with what is obviously a political prosecution on the heels of Whitewater (which was obviously a political attack with no basis in fact).

May I be permitted to argue that reprehensible as Bill Clinton’s sexual conduct was (frankly, the perjury honey trap after years of fruitless investigation into his finances was such a partisan setup I don’t hold it against him), Arnold’s is even worse? Arnold doesn’t seem to be into seducing women, or even propositioning them; he likes to humiliate them physically, often in public.

**Wouldn’t it be relevant if the guy in question had backed good legislation over the course of his career?**
Well, at least you’re not hiding the “it depends on if he supports Democratic policies” defense.
**”Arnold’s is even worse? Arnold doesn’t seem to be into seducing women, or even propositioning them; he likes to humiliate them physically, often in public.”***
Yeah, “kiss it” and “you might want to put some ice on that” is sooooo seductive.
Clinton’s seduced none-too-few party stalwarts, however.

John,
Can I ask what would make you vote for Bustamante on the second question?

Katha “the American flag is jingoist and racist” Pollitt? Yeah she has a lot of credibility.
Dan
Why oh why is every problem with a Republican referred with a comparison to Clinton? Just tell me, someone, what positive good for the people of California will follow from having this steroided jackass as Governor besides the fact that he can win, get Davis out and puts an (R) on the back of his name? Even your ‘own’ John Hawkins despairs……….
John Cole
MArk- He was elected Lt. Governor. He should be given a chance.
