I saw the Last Samurai yesterday. It was ok- I didn’t feel like my money had been wasted when it was over. I guess you can call that a movie review. Probably should have seen Master and Commander.

hah, i went to the $1 theater and saw Pirates of the Caribbean… I’m that inspired by the current lineup.
Kimmitt
I can recommend Master and Commander without hesitation.

The Last Samurai made me want to get so mad that I couldn’t feel bullets anymore like the guys in the movie.
It was like “Dances With Wolves” meets “The Terminator”. I give it a thumbs up.

I don’t know, other than Kimmett, the only other positive review of M&C i’ve read so far was by some schmuck in NR.

M&C, loved it!
Director Mitch
My wife gave me two afternoon passes away from the Jr. Director to see movies this weekend. Saturday: Master and Commander. Sunday: Last Samurai
Both were “good” movies, neither would I call “great”, but I would give Samurai a slight edge over Master. Yeah, yeah, there were a LOT of inaccuracies, and there was definitely the “bad white man” aspect of it ala Dances with Wolves, but I thought the pacing of Master was a bit slow and the action sequencies of Samurai better (even if the very ending was a VERY contrived Hollywood ending).
Ofcourse the movie I *REALLY* want to see is LOTR. It is going to blow both of these other guys out of the water.
