If the Democrats were honest, this is the memo they would send out tomorrow:
Dear Mary and Elizabeth Cheney,
We thought it would be appropriate to let you know that the centerpiece of our efforst to elect Sen. Kerry in November is the assertion that you were conceived solely to keep your father out of Vietnam. I hope you understand this is nothing personal, just part of our discussion of the important issues of the day.
Yours Truly,
Terry McAuliffe
DNC ChairmanPS: Everyone knows Dick hates you because you are gay, Mary.

John
I noted your comment in a post below about the need for moderation in the comments of those posting here. Somehow or other a similar message needs to get out to the leadership of the Democratic party. And, no, I don’t buy the argument that Kimmitt, Oliver and others will advance that Clinton suffered to an even greater degree.
Personally, I believe that we are very rapidly reaching the point where governance will be virtually impossible on a national level because of the enmity and bitterness engendered by extremists on both sides.

Which Democrat said “solely”? Even I don’t think it was the sole reason.
You don’t think couples consider, say, family finances in deciding when to have children? Then why not draft status.
Is it my imagination, or will Google disgorge conservatives saying women had children to boost their old AFDC checks??
S.W. Anderson
I was appalled when I heard some gay activists had declared open season on Cheney’s lesbian daughter because she has or is active in campaigning for him.
Well, congrats, you just went them one lower. While I find Cheney as acceptable as an unlanced carbuncle and slightly less useful, I don’t think personal and family matters such as this ought to enter into the campaign.
Did I miss something or is your beef not with MacAuliffe but with that group of gay activists?

“You don’t think couples consider, say, family finances in deciding when to have children? Then why not draft status.”
And then, they went and got Lynne to ovulate on command, eh? That’s talent, there.

Terry,
Our current state reminds me of 1857-1858. At least no one’s been caned in Congress…yet.
HH
Well if they were conceived “partially” for that reason well that’s okay.
Kimmitt
“Our current state reminds me of 1857-1858.”
Me, too.
Fred
Love your site. Quite witty and, to my liking, a conservative bent.

Mrs. Slart can explain to you, it happens every month.

Democratic Sewer List:
Accuse Bob Bork of wanting to reinstall racism: Check.
Research 20 year old video rentals of Clarence Thomas: Check.
Ponder over the sex life of a married couple and see if it can be intertwined with cowardice: Check.
Defend someone who actually received a draft notice & who then skirted the draft (and then call it consistent): Check.
Wow…..pondering the bedroom activities of a married couple 35 years later.
Just when I thought the shamelessness couldn’t get any worse.
Slartibartfast
I got her to explain it to me; she made some effort to explain how it doesn’t happen right when you want it to. Maybe you ought to get Mrs. Lazarus to explain that to you.

“If Democrats were honest”
hahahahahahahahaha
Yeah, what fantasy world does that exist in? They’re not even rational, asking them for honesty is too much
Kimmitt
It’s so strange; conservatism is based around irrationality. Its tenets are “It’s mine, all mine, and you can’t have any!” and “This policy/set of people/religion makes me feel bad, so it should be banned.” The notion that it has some kind of lock on a rational approach to life is complete fantasy.
Slartibartfast
Straw everywhere, Kimmitt.
.. accordng to his needs.
Kimmitt: Please send me a cashier’s check for 1/2 the value of all your yearly income, personal and real property, and the value of your parents’ estate. Only then will I believe you aren’t a hypocritical little tool. If you will take me up on this request, please reply on John’s comments. Peace, out, dude.

As Colonel Potter would have been fond of saying: “Horsepuckey!”
This could just as easily be rephrased to say:
It’s so strange; LIBERALISM is based around irrationality. Its tenets are “It’s OURS, all OURS, and you can’t KEEP ANY FOR YOURSELF!” and “This policy/set of people/religion makes OTHERS feel bad, so it should be banned.” The notion that it has some kind of lock on a rational approach to life is complete fantasy.
Naturally, both statements are ridiculous. Not to be mean but, stop making blanket generalizations and start backing up your opinions up with cold, hard facts. Seriously.
Slartibartfast
I considered posting a response along those lines, Chris, but then I realized that like so many of Kimmitt’s posts when he’s in the manic phase, he doesn’t really mean it.
But I doubt we’ll see a retraction, or even an admission that he’d just indulged in some ridiculously unjustified (and unustifiable) overgeneralization.
CadillaqJaq
I don’t feel that I have enough of “what’s mine” and would ask Kimmit to please fork over some of his… I mean IF he is indeed as liberal as one would be led to believe.
Thanking Kimmit in advance.

Good call on that one.

What can I say? I’ve got you pegged.
Kimmitt
Cadillaq — last year sucked pretty hard (artifact of the Bush Economy), and we made little more than we took out in Student Loans. You’re welcome to my credit card balances, and my TV (which doesn’t show red until you hit it).
