Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

I like you, you’re my kind of trouble.

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

Black Jesus loves a paper trail.

You can’t attract Republican voters. You can only out organize them.

Infrastructure week. at last.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

It’s time for the GOP to dust off that post-2012 autopsy, completely ignore it, and light the party on fire again.

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

Damn right I heard that as a threat.

It may be funny to you motherfucker, but it’s not funny to me.

And we’re all out of bubblegum.

Their freedom requires your slavery.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

When do the post office & the dmv weigh in on the wuhan virus?

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

Not so fun when the rabbit gets the gun, is it?

The GOP couldn’t organize an orgy in a whorehouse with a fist full of 50s.

“Jesus paying for the sins of everyone is an insult to those who paid for their own sins.”

Hot air and ill-informed banter

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

White supremacy is terrorism.

I’m trying to inform those folks that Arnold is, like, you know, a Republican.

Trying to swim through the waves of dishonest spin is becoming tiresome.

I can see why lots of people have slacked off on blogging……too much bullshit out there.

Give Oliver credit (though I think his idea that Arnold won’t be a plus for the Republicans in CA is silly). During the CA Governor Recall Extravaganza, Oliver refrained from participating in the slimy smear tactics directed at AS and criticized those involved in them, and his commenters were positively vicious to him about it.

Sad to see the left doing everything they usually accuse the right of doing, and the right doing all the things the left claims to have been just about to do.

Just one of the reasons I’m a neocon.

I read the comments and had to shudder. There are actually people who WANT higher taxes for themselves.

Why don’t these people simply voluntarily give away their money instead of imposing taxes on others?

No, they don’t. If they did, they’d send it in, instead of rushing to the bank & depositing the Bush tax cuts.

They want higher taxes on the folks who have succeeded in America’s capitalist system. They dare not call it class warfare against those who have outperformed, but rather “fairness”. It’s much easier to talk the talk from the peanut gallery.

I speak as a grunt, btw.

Marbles, I’m sure you can lobby hard to have your taxes increased. Until such increases are enacted, you should just send the IRS checks. I’m sure John Kerry and Ted Kennedy would elect to pay higher taxes when given the opportunity, wouldn’t they?

You can be sure that whatever quisling runs against Arnold next time will get full support from Willis and company anyway.

And they’ll suddenly see the right-wingedness of Arnold, as well.

I’m beginning to think that rational thought is falling to the wayside as the election nears. Hopefully, everything will return to normal afterwards……I’m seeing some strange stuff out there.

    I was against the recall.
    I didn’t like Gray Davis.
I like Arnold, and I wish more Republicans were like him.
I think Arnold lines up more with Dems than Republicans, especially the cultural trolls that are the backbone of the GOP.
I don’t know that he would have any coattails at all, but I think those people are more likely to vote for Kerry.
I said before that if Richard Riordan had run for Gov, it would be the first Republican I could support. If a Lieberman type were running against Arnold, I would be for Arnold. Otherwise, eh.

By cultural trolls, I assume you mean those with impulse control.

Has anyone told Arnold, the Republican?

IOW, how much clearer can it be presented to you that you’re the epitome of WRONG to the max, Oliver, than the guy’s own freaking choice of political parties?
