Ms Lithwick apparently forgets that, in the post 9/11 world, terrorists are capable of reading and if they thought they could place a homocide bomber in with a pack of anti-war maggots on the steps of the convention, I’d speculate that they would not hesitate to do so. So keeping all maggots rounded up and remote seems a reasonable security measure. It didn’t seem to hurt their coverage in Boston, and they also should remember that most conventioneers have no interest in their message, or they would avail themselves of it. Great 9/10 thinking from the bastion of same, the NYT.
