I just got HDTV, and I now have ten channels in High Definition. I was wondering a few things:
1.) How many of you have HDTV?
2.) Did your viewing habits change when yo got it?
3.) Are you more likely to watch shows you have never watched before, simpy because they are in HD?
Personally, I have found myself watching anything in HD. I am actually having a soccer renaissance, since I get to watch so many games in HD. baseball is unbelievable, as are INDY car, Nascar, and football. Usually I am only interested in football and baseball.
Also, I get these two cable only channels, INHD and INHD2, and they broadcast all these IMAX movies which are just amazing.
The other thing that stuns me is how good old movies look.
At any rate, since I have ABC, CBS, and NBC, I notice that CBS seems to have more shows in HD, but NBC has a whole bunch of shows coming out inthe fall line-up in HD. I wonder how much my viewing habits will change.
I do know one thing. If the Hitler channel comes out in HD, I can cancel my social life.

I have HDTV. Yeah, I watch it when I can. I really enjoy “The Simpsons” It’s amazing that little things like a cartoon even look better.
The best thing to watch is local news. You can see how unattractive and made up these people really are and how cheesy their sets are.

Oh John, wait until the HD DVD and the Blu-Ray DVD players from Sony come out, they will blow your mind.
Because on the Blu-Ray discs, they can hold 25 gigs, and 50 dual layer, and HD DVD can hold 15 gigs and 30 dual layer but have better compatibility with standard DVD’s. Convential DVD’s only hold 4.7 gigs and something like 9.4 dual layer or something. It’ll be great to finally clean up all that grain and unrealistic digital fuzziness that’s screwed people’s vision for awhile now.
The amazement in clear resolution is only the begininning… I have yet to upgrade yet, as since Intel started their HD and Plasma chip research, those nice HD’s will split in more than half!!!!

I don’t have it yet, but I continue to be amazed at how quickly the prices keep dropping for HDTV televisions. Soon. Maybe for Christmas….

Taking a guess here: Is the Hitler channel really the History Channel?
We don’t have cable for that very reason – I would be addicted to the History Channel.

YEs, Declan.

Gaming systems should have full support with the new Nintendo and PS3 consoles releasing next year, XBOX 2 is iffy as noone really knows what Balmer meant by not this year, not this financial year?
Better start firing up those Monster Cable HD-Component cables haha!
One thing I’m glad they got rid of before I got an HD set, Al Roker’s fat ass.

I have had HD for a little over a year, and never want to go back. I find myself watching things in HD that I wouldn’t normaly over things not in HD that I would.
Not sure if you have the INHD channels, but they are my new favorites.

Damn. You still have a social life?

I have a nice, big widescreen HDTV. Yes, HD makes me watch specials on the mating habits of the Albanian Tree Sloth because, DAMN! Look at the detail in the fur!
But I don’t watch much TV, I mostly got it because I wanted my DVDs to be seen on a widescreen. The HDTV part was kind of a bonus.
