I would be remiss if I failed to congratulate the Boston Red Sox and their long suffering fans. You earned it.
So fitting, though- I wash my hands of the Sox, and they win eight games in a row.
This is a ind of macabre thought, but I wonder if there will be a stiff incline in the number of elderly deaths in Boston over the next six months?

It’s a great time to be a Boston sports fan! I’ve waited my whole
life for this moment. The curse has officially been reversed! After
86 years of drought, the Red Sox have finally, FINALLY, reclaimed the
World Series. And they broke numerous records along the way: First
and only baseball team to come back from an 0-3 deficit to win a
championship…against the Yankees no less! (Too bad, so sad for all
you Yankees fans out there…you know who you are. And to think you
were only 3 outs away from eliminating the Red Sox altogether.) First
team to win 8 postseason games in a row. First team to sweep the
World Series without ever trailing, not even once. Seeing Johnny
Pesky’s eyes light up as he held the World Series trophy was one of
the most heartwarming things I’ve ever seen.
Plus we have a football dynasty in the making with the Patriots who
are also breaking NFL records along the way: 21 wins in a row and
counting. (Too bad, so sad for all you NY Giants fans out there…you
know who you are. How does it feel to see Belichick on the Patriots
sideline?)
Now if we could only get the Celtics to play like they did back in the
’80s when Bird, McHale, and Parrish pounded the parquet to complete
the trifecta.
If anyone needs me, I’ll be on Cloud 9 toasting that lovable bunch of
idiots. Go Sox!
