Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Motto for the House: Flip 5 and lose none.

Jesus, Mary, & Joseph how is that election even close?

A snarling mass of vitriolic jackals

Tick tock motherfuckers!

A democracy can’t function when people can’t distinguish facts from lies.

After roe, women are no longer free.

Battle won, war still ongoing.

“Squeaker” McCarthy

Putin must be throwing ketchup at the walls.

Just because you believe it, that doesn’t make it true.

Accountability, motherfuckers.

New McCarthy, same old McCarthyism.

Bark louder, little dog.

Being the leader of the world means to be the leader of peace.

Republicans in disarray!

Is it negotiation when the other party actually wants to shoot the hostage?

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

T R E 4 5 O N

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

JFC, are there no editors left at that goddamn rag?

A lot of Dems talk about what the media tells them to talk about. Not helpful.

Good lord, these people are nuts.

Republicans are the party of chaos and catastrophe.

Despite his magical powers, I don’t think Trump is thinking this through, to be honest.

Screwed Again

by John Cole|  October 4, 20043:34 pm| 2 Comments

This post is in: Sports

Jay Caruso has his end of the season picks up for Baseball Awards, but he fails to note the Rookie of the Year award.

As a small market fan, I am absolutely convinced the Pirates will get screwed yet again, and Jason Bay, whose numbers indicate he should win rookie of the year, will once again get passed over for some prick in a bigger market.

When teams like the Yankees can buy contention every year, why should I be surprised that awards based on merit would be similarly out of reach for small market teams?

The Lies of John Kerry

This post is in: Democratic Stupidity

If you want to know why I detest the Democratic party and John Kerry, you need look no farther than this demagogic statement today from the Sneator from Massachussetts:

“But when you have a president who refuses to listen to the facts, who wants to play to the cheap seats, who wants to go down to the politics of division and the politics of ideology, who dismisses scientists and turns his back on science

Polls

I guess the polls have shifted again, and they now reflect a dead heat. This is the first time I am inclined to believe the polls in the past few months- I think anyone who really thought Bush had a 14 pt lead needed their head examined.

At any rate, as I did not watch the first debate (I had intended to read the transcript and then lost interest), I find myself struglling to find things to write about. As far as I am concerned, this election is over. There simply is nothing Kerry can say that will make me vote for him, as much as I dislike many of the things the ‘conservatives’ currently charge have done.

Notes From The Democratic Coasts

by John Cole|  October 4, 200412:08 pm| 13 Comments

This post is in: Democratic Stupidity

In the Democrat controlled East coast:

This is Crossroads South Middle School in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey. On Thursday, there was a back-to-school night for parents of students. Veteran English teacher Shiba Pillai-Diaz says she was shocked when three parents confronted her. The three, insisting the teacher either add John Kerry’s photo to the montage of presidents or remove the Bush photo. When Pillai-Diaz refused, she says the school’s vice-principal threatened her job which is an act that has parents here fuming.

Pillai-Diaz ultimately removed the entire bulletin board and says School Principal Jim Warfel told her she disrupted the school with her “inflammatory politics”. She says he then ordered her out of the building. While she says she is a Bush supporter in her personal life, Pillai-Diaz says she keeps politics out of the classroom.

Shiba Pillai-Diaz, Teacher: “There was no political intent, nor was there any political content in that photograph nor on the bulletin board.”

Unhinged.

I am so glad this election is going to be over soon.

So Much for That

I guess all the unrealistic National Championship talk about my beloved Mountaineers can stop, after they dropped to Va. Tech today by a score of 19-13.

Could be worse, I guess. I could be a Cubs fan. What a collapse.
