Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The republican caucus is covering themselves with something, and it is not glory.

It was a close one, but this picture says it all:

Pittsburgh Steelers Ricardo Colclough, 21, left, kicker Jeff Reed, 3, Antwaan Randle El, 82, and holder Chris Gardocki, 17, celebrate their winning field goal with just 18 seconds left on the clock in the fourth quarter Sunday night, December 5, 2004 at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.

If you haven’t heard the details, go here, but in the hardest hitting game I have seen in- well, this season at leat, the Steelers managed to mount a last minute drive to score the game winning field goal.

17-16.

Big Ben improved to 10-0 as the Steelers improved to 11-1, and Ben’s last minute drive was a thing of beauty.

Winning feels good.

LOVE that guy, and the new Steelers. If only Dallas could have been a contender this year, I could have relived my childhood this January.

John, even though my Bengals have lost two CLOSE games, my congrats to you. Surprisingly (to myself, at least) I don’t hate the Steelers. But then again, I only lived in the Cleveland area for 5 years. Perhaps the fact I LOATHE the Browns has something to do with it (the enemy of my enemy is my friend).

Still, the Steelers are doomed once they go up against the Patriots or the Colts. Just don’t see them getting past the high octane offenses.

I’m an Eagles fan, so i’m not saying this out of any loyalty to the Steelers, but while I don’t know what will happen if they meet the Pats in the playoffs, there is no doubt in my mind that they would obliterate the Colts.

I saw what the Steelers defense did to Donovan, and he can actually scramble. Once the Steelers start blitzing Peyton, he’s gonna be the same choking dog that he is in almost every big game going back the the UT-Florida games when he was in college.

Wait a second . . . The Steelers beat the Patriots once already, and you are saying you don’t think the Steelers can beat the Patriots?

I must disagree with you there, though I do admit that it will be tougher for the Steelers to win with Dillon healthy. However, I think it possible for them to beat any team in the league. On the other hand, the other team could beat us. However, the talent and drive are there, which makes for an exciting season.
