It is time for everyone to start ignoring Jose Canseco.
As far as I am concerned, Juan Gonzalez, Ivan Rodriguez, and Mark Mcgwire could have used steroids every day and their sins would pale in comparison to Jose Canseco.
Steroids weren’t banned by baseball, and you don’t rat out your teammates.

Someone should as Jose why he, as a pioneer in the abuse of steroids, doesn’t shoulder the burden of responsibility for driving others to follow his lead or surrender competitive advantage to him.

I waas just listening to sports talk radio in Baltimore. They had on Billy Ripken, Cal’s younger brother. He was also a ballplayer and was on the Texas Rangers with Canseco.
Billy placed little credence in Canseco’s allegations, calling him “Twitchy” because he constantly twitiches his kneck and waves his hands around. Billy said Jose was a basket case, and was notorious for speaking before he thought out what he was actually saying. Ripken contends this is the case with Jose’s book.
I will always just remember Canseco beaning a fly ball on his thick noggin, sending it over the wall for a home run. That pretty much sums up Canseco’s career in my opinion.

He also mentioned Rafael Palmeiro, if Raffy took roids…he clearly got ripped off.

Palmiero’s got over five hundred home runs in his career and a ticket to Cooperstown–his career is nothing to sneeze at.
However, if he’s been juicing, it creates a whole new spin on those Viagra ads. . .

No matter how many doses you take, it’s not giong to make you a better baseball player. Pro baseball players are born that way. Now, weightlifters, bodybuilders, football players, pro wrestlers, that’s different.

Yeah, strength has nothing to do with playing baseball, which is why no teams employ strength trainers and draft 5’8″ singles hitters instead of naturally born sluggers. [sigh] Ever heard of a power pitcher who relied on his legs? The names Nolan Ryan, Roger Clemens and Curt Schilling come to mind?
