I see that the following websites do not exist:
Democrats Against Torture
Anti-Torture Democrats
Democrats for Human Rights
Therefore, since ‘extraordinary rendition’ began during the Clinton years, if I use the deep logic presented by the Editors, I must assume that all Democrats are objectively pro-torture.
That is how this kind of stupidity works, right (why, some might say this post is even Kaye Groganesque!)?
In a show of bi-partisanship, I am willing to work with the Editors to defeat the following candidates:
Landrieu (D-LA)
Lieberman (D-CT)
Nelson (D-FL)
Nelson (D-NE)
Pryor (D-AR)
Salazar (D-CO)
The Editors
Those organizations don’t exist because an organization called “the Democratic Party” opposes torture (with 6 exceptions, who will not be around much longer, if I have my way). As I said, no national Republican has taken any positive action to stop the torture policies of this Republican government – so, if you support the Republican Party at this point in history, you support torture. No “objectively” qualifier needed – you just simply support torture. Some, like Mr. Holsclaw, will write essays about how torture is wrong, and something must be done. Maybe he’ll take action; I’d be very pleased to see it, but I’m not holding my breath. Others, like yourself, will play stupid about this until you can find another unknown community college professor saying something “outrageous” to get the foam flowing. All the while you are actively supporting the torture of the innocent.

How do you know that those supposedly being tortured are innocent? Furthermore, how exactly do you define torture?
Answers to these questions are integral in framing the entire issue.

I’m not familiar with The Editors, but reading this post and Link leads me to conclude that they’re just another whack job that has no compunction about distorting reality to attack the Administration in order to extract whatever hair’s up their butt in any given week. Hell, they’re probably followers of the infamous Bob.

After reading the article from “The Editors” along with their post above, I thought I’d relapsed into reading “Online Journal.” Jeesh… now the ultra libs have a new and nasty buzzword to assail us with. As a Republican, I didn’t know I condoned torture. I do, however, suffer from it at times when reading the “infamous Bob’s” writings.

Bob’s writing are clearly specified as an outlawed torture mechanism as per paragraph 45-2, sub 3a
Bob please report to Gitmo for re-education.

Gee, I have criticized the Bully Boys around here who pretend to throw their weight around and like to shout others down. I think that a lot of you guys would like to imagine yourselves in political street fights, but that’s just imaginations working. When I was twelve I used to imagine being the first baseman for the Rex Sox.
George Saras fantasizes beating up people with 2x4s when he’s not having pedophilic fantasies, based on his traumatic childhood experiences.
But specifically on torture, I don’t necessarily believe that Republicans generally, and most of you here in this blog, condone torture.
Rather, you condone George Bush. George Bush condones torture.
Bob
By the way, the article in the New Yorker about extraordinary rendition was very interesting and I would recommend it to all who would comment on it.
Clinton’s use of this deportation for purposes of torture was despicable, and if it had been known at the time I do believe most Americans would have opposed it, like I am sure that everyone here would. That would have been something for Kenneth Starr to have investigated, not blow jobs.
There are places the U.S. now send prisoners where people are boiled to death to get them to talk, often about things they know nothing about.
The beauty of this is that in any given population there are people who take pleasure in the pain of others. They find their way into positions where their lust for inducing pain can blossom into a career.
We are creating a generation around the world that hates America. We’ve already created a terrorist breeding ground in Iraq, according to Rumsfeld. Well, today he didn’t say we created it, he just said it now is a terrorist breeding ground.
A world that hates us. Does anyone here think that when someone is getting waterboarded in Egypt that he’s thankful that Saddam’s torture rooms are shut down?
When Gonzales, in his first speech as Attorney General, talked about bringing power to the powerless I imagined the power of the pen, and wires attached to the genitals of prisoners. All in the name of America. Flip the switch, Bully Boys.

Craig Murray, Britain’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, was recalled from his post after speaking about over British complicity in torture. In response, he has decided to challenge Britain’s Foreign Secretary Jack Straw as an Independent candidate in Blackburn at the UK Election. To find out how you can help, please see:
