Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

A snarling mass of vitriolic jackals

Eh, that’s media spin. biden’s health is fine and he’s doing a good job.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

“Everybody’s entitled to be an idiot.”

When your entire life is steeped in white supremacy, equality feels like discrimination.

Conservatism: there are some people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

The next time the wall street journal editorial board speaks the truth will be the first.

The republican caucus is already covering themselves with something, and it’s not glory.

Damn right I heard that as a threat.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

And now I have baud making fun of me. this day can’t get worse.

rich, arrogant assholes who equate luck with genius

Motto for the House: Flip 5 and lose none.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

I did not have this on my fuck 2022 bingo card.

“But what about the lurkers?”

I’ve spoken to my cat about this, but it doesn’t seem to do any good.

Yeah, with this crowd one never knows.

Jesus, Mary, & Joseph how is that election even close?

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

A democracy can’t function when people can’t distinguish facts from lies.

Today’s GOP: why go just far enough when too far is right there?

Florida did the right thing there. Would have been better if he’d never been wrongly convicted. But, since he was, we owe him.

Until the voter roles in all 50 states get wiped clean and everyone has to re-register in person with proof of US citizenship I won’t believe voting reform is possible.

Ralph, there was no need to prove you hadn’t read the linked article.

Fair enough. But how about an automatic money judgment for the victims of crime? So that they can get compensated, not from the government, but from the future earnings of their attackers, etc.

Often victims don’t sue cause it’s expensive, and not likely to generate actual money for years, if ever. But if it was set up like worker’s comp? More would do it.

John, why is this filed under “Democrat Stupidity”? It doesn’t really fit in that category…

Sounds like a very worthwhile, very overdue refrom, all right.

I, too, wonder why you have to make it into an apparently undeserved swipe at Democrats.
