Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

At some point, the ability to learn is a factor of character, not IQ.

When do we start airlifting the women and children out of Texas?

Come on, man.

Jack Smith: “Why did you start campaigning in the middle of my investigation?!”

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

The National Guard is not Batman.

Something needs to be done about our bogus SCOTUS.

Many life forms that would benefit from greater intelligence, sadly, do not have it.

If you voted for Trump, you don’t get to speak about ethics, morals, or rule of law.

American history and black history cannot be separated.

… pundit janitors mopping up after the gop

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

People are weird.

People really shouldn’t expect the government to help after they watched the GOP drown it in a bathtub.

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

These days, even the boring Republicans are nuts.

Republicans do not trust women.

“woke” is the new caravan.

I did not have this on my fuck 2025 bingo card.

Stand up, dammit!

’Where will you hide, Roberts, the laws all being flat?’

The desire to stay informed is directly at odds with the need to not be constantly enraged.

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

Damned Baseball Hearings

I just tried to watch the news, and, lo and behold, there ie none to be found because they are broadcasting the stupid damned steroid hearings. Against my better judgement, I watched for 5 minutes, and to my knowledge, the only thing happening is that Curt Schilling is making the entire Congress look like idiots.

I thought the same thing. Tried Fox, CNN, and MSNBC, and they were all broadcasting the damned hearing.

Of course, hold hearings on a relatively useless subject when there is so much that the public should be examining as per Congress. Hide the real stuff.

Sorry, but someone committing suicide because steroids didn’t make him a Mark McGuire is not an important item on my legislative agenda.

A quick review of the sports talk shows, despite efforts by the hosts to pump up the topic, has been met pretty much with a yawn.

Well, Bob, that’s too bad. But there are lots of other people who are parents of, or coaches of, or are close to people who are young men who are susceptible to thinking, “Yeah, I can get away with this.” My 10 year old reveres Mark McGwire right now, but if he is brought down in a demonstration of the WRONGNESS of steroids, then I say “THANK YOU Congress, for ONCE you’ve done something good and practical in my life.”

Something you, as a parent couldn’t (and shouldn’t) have done on your own?

Isn’t Congress investigating drug use in baseball, like the Mafia investigating street gang violence?

Let baseball take care of the problem. Congress needs to stay out of baseball. Thank you Mark McGuire for not bowing down to COngress. Conseco needs to go live in another country.

Parents, once again, want to blame someone else.
How much pressure did they put on their sons to be better athletes? Do better so you can get a scholarship!!!

Fisrt of all .its only a kids game…right!!??
yeah sure..Its a joke that the political structure of this country is sticking their nose into baseball. They have enough trouble trying to work together & run the country. Baseball itself is a great sport being ruined by the most greedy individuals on earth.Owners & players .take your pick ( lets not forget the scum sucking agents ).
All of these so called heroes that are obviously juiced up.could not carry Ted Williams or Mickey Mantels jock strap. Kick Barry Bonds out of the game….dirty as you can get.( oh , i’m sorry..he makes money for all involved in the game)What a shame.
    Right on Canseco !!

Hey Big Mac! There's no CRYING IN CONGRESSIONAL HEARINGS ON BASEBALL! (Updated)

Congressional steroid probe begins. **** update: If it's any indication of the overall quality of these hearings, a member of Congress just asked renowned Cato scholar Jose Canseco whether or not the government should consider universal drug te…
