Just wondering how everyone eats their corned beef and cabbage.
I throw the brisket of corn beef, some new potatoes, and a head of green cabbage in a pot and boil it, adding water and salt and pepper.
Delicious.

The woman behind me says to boil the brisket separately for about 3 hours to assure tenderness. Then add potatoes, cabbage and spices to suit. Boil the mix for an additional hour.
Last night we ate it! To die for!
Tomorrow for lunch, the left-overs will be even better.

Cabbage should only be in for the last 20 minutes. Otherwise it gets way overdone. For the brisket, three hours is an absolute minimum. It should go for more like 5 to 6 hours. If you slice it right it should flake apart with a fork.
