He said U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, who is leading a charge to extend Terri Schiavo’s life, is a “little slithering snake” pandering for votes.
“To make comments that Terri would want to live, how do they know?” Schiavo said of the members of Congress who want to keep his wife alive.
“Have they ever met her?” Schiavo said. “What color are her eyes? What’s her middle name? What’s her favorite color? They don’t have any clue who Terri is. They should all be ashamed of themselves.”
Schiavo said he was going to stay at his wife’s side through the entire ordeal and said he wouldn’t back down in his fight to have her wishes carried out.
“Terri died 15 years ago,” Schiavo said, referring to the collapse and cardiac arrest that doctors say virtually destroyed her brain. “It’s time for her to be with the Lord like she wanted to be.”
About time his side is being presented in this circus.

Let Terris parents look after her. I dont understand what is her husbands problem or do I? He has a new girl friend and 2 children. He needs to get on with his life. Terri has a right to live, she isnt on life support. she breathes on her own. If her parents and family want to look after her, what is the problem. As for Michael, we only have your word that Terri wanted no tubes. Lets get some real doctors and judges into her room and check her out. Then make the decision. Everyone has a right to live, disabled or not. I am disabled, not as bad as Terri, you gonna put me down to. Right now, she is slowly being murdered. Please, someone out there, save her. She isnt a dog or a cat, she is human and she is alive! Thanks for listening.

As I said earlier, the reason that a few people have a problem with the husband was that to him, she really DID die 15 years ago & he quickly moved on to another woman.

With all due respect, we treat dogs and cats more humanely than we treat our own species. Shiavo’s condition goes far beyond customary understandings of disability. It transcends even the extraordinary disability of Stephen Hawking. Parts of her brain have literally liquified. (See here at Obsidian Wings.) I don’t want to sound glib, but there’s no there there anymore.
If a person were to preserve an animal under such conditions and for so long a time, he or she would be arrested and charged with cruelty.
Do I like the fact that the only legal recourse is to allow her to starve? Emphatically, no! In fact, I’m horrified. But given that we have been in “legal denial” on this issue for years — the unintended consequences of advances in medicine — we are left with awful and less-awful options. Sometimes, less-awful is all you get.

Many of the Hospice nurses, volunteers, and doctors who are charged with the care, feeding, and unbiased medical evaluation of Terri Schiavo worked for George J. Felos, a man who has publically proclaimed that Terri must die.
The death Felos has prescribed for Terri starts with a ban on all but the most basic physical care – the once beautiful woman rots in her “Hospice of the Florida Suncoast” bed; Terri’s advocates claim her teeth are unbrushed, her nails untrimmed, her infections untreated. This was not always the case – even after her brain injury, Terri’s parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, kept her groomed and pretty. Terri was even starting to speak again – words like “yes” “no” and “stop that” – but that was before Michael Schiavo hired George Felos to help his wife “die with dignity”. Now, Terri’s parents have been safely removed so as to avoid “false hope”. All media and medical access is tightly controlled by Micheal Schiavo and Felos; in response, Terri has at last physically and mentally degenerated to the level where she may be exterminated by polite society.
Terri’s slow death will grind down to a brutal, final starvation, executed at Felos’ request on Jan 3, 2003. Upon Terri’s death, several hundred thousand dollars that were earmarked for Terri’s long-term care and therapy will finally be released to her husband Michael Schiavo, his new lover and their baby, to his attorney George Felos, and quite possibly in turn to the Hospice itself. It is unknown if Felos would advocate quick death for hospice patients who do not have large sums of money lubricating their exit from life; evidently the Hospice has not been forthcoming with clients in regard to George Felos’ true role at the Hospice.

Velos, Mike Schiavo/Stalin – same difference – all like(d) to starve people to death who were in their way. Apparently the shistered “settlement” money ran out for Mike and Velos so they just killed their cash cow. Simple as that! And the filthy ACLU and an crooked judge, greer (well paid, I’d surmise) assisted. What a horrific, sadistic travesty and only good, powerless people cared. I think we now live in a very sick country.
