Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The lights are all blinking red.

An almost top 10,000 blog!

They want us to be overwhelmed and exhausted. Focus. Resist. Oppose.

“Alexa, change the president.”

“They all knew.”

Dear legacy media: you are not here to influence outcomes and policies you find desirable.

Since we are repeating ourselves, let me just say fuck that.

If you are still in the gop, you are either an extremist yourself, or in bed with those who are.

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

Bad people in a position to do bad things will do bad things because they are bad people. End of story.

Jesus, Mary, & Joseph how is that election even close?

“The defense has a certain level of trust in defendant that the government does not.”

Petty moves from a petty man.

Stand up, dammit!

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires Republicans to act in good faith.

So many bastards, so little time.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

Not so fun when the rabbit gets the gun, is it?

Since when do we limit our critiques to things we could do better ourselves?

Following reporting rules is only for the little people, apparently.

Cancel the cowardly Times and Post and set up an equivalent monthly donation to ProPublica.

The current Supreme Court is a dangerous, rogue court.

The world has changed, and neither one recognizes it.

Some quick things you should probably know:

Johnnie Cochran of OJ Simpson fame is dead at 67.

Jerry Falwell may be dying.

Kofi Annan was cleared.

Boy Scout leader charged with owning kiddie porn.

And, in breaking news, the intelligence regarding Iraq was bad. No shit.

What are you talking about? That was darn good intelligence.

I agree with Kimmitt; the intelligence was darn good (at the time.)

Aren’t all of us guilty of making decisions based on the best information we have available at any given time? In hindsight, we can be critical and conclude the intelligence was bad. It was either flawed or a number of misleading words should have been left out in the beginning. It boils down to a bad choice of words, not bad intelligence, ;)

And Michael Moore was right. The Administration did fly out Saudis right after 9/11 while Americans couldn’t fly anywhere.

Caddie, when one makes a decision on bad information, and then is corrected by history, one may consider those sources on which he based the incorrect decision to be untrustworthy, and to listen to those whose information at the time proved to be right. That would be the path of a wise man. A dumb ass would continue down the wrong road.

Would it be wrong of me to hope Jerry Falwell “moves on”?

When Jerry Falwell moves on someone else just as vapid will no doubt take his place. Falwell is a hate-mongerer. Until we have a more tolerant country intolerance will reign and it won’t matter who dies, someone just as slimy will take their place.
