Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

I am pretty sure these ‘journalists’ were not always such a bootlicking sycophants.

White supremacy is terrorism.

They want us to be overwhelmed and exhausted. Focus. Resist. Oppose.

“Facilitate” is an active verb, not a weasel word.

“Loving your country does not mean lying about its history.”

Dear Washington Post, you are the darkness now.

🎶 Those boots were made for mockin’ 🎵

Polls are now a reliable indicator of what corporate Republicans want us to think.

Democracy cannot function without a free press.

This country desperately needs a functioning fourth estate.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

Accountability, motherfuckers.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

He wakes up lying, and he lies all day.

Within six months Twitter will be fully self-driving.

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

Someone should tell Republicans that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, or possibly the first.

We’re watching the self-immolation of the leading world power on a level unprecedented in human history.

Republicans seem to think life begins at the candlelight dinner the night before.

The low info voters probably won’t even notice or remember by their next lap around the goldfish bowl.

Republicans want to make it harder to vote and easier for them to cheat.

If you still can’t see these things even now, maybe politics isn’t your forte and you should stop writing about it.

Stamping your little feets and demanding that they see how important you are? Not working anymore.

People are complicated. Love is not.

A Plea for Peace

And the sad saga takes another ugly twist:

The seething feud between Terri Schiavo’s parents and husband raged on even after her death, as both families planned separate funerals for the woman whose final months riveted the nation and reached all the way to the halls of Congress and the White House.

The matter of burying Schiavo, though, is something the two sides have had to settle themselves. The Schindlers, who are devout Catholics, wanted their daughter’s remains buried in Florida, where they live. Michael Schiavo, however, has custody of the body and plans to have his wife cremated.

Schiavo’s ashes will be buried in an undisclosed location near Philadelphia so that her immediate family does not attend and turn the moment into a media spectacle, said Scott Schiavo, Michael Schiavo’s brother. A funeral Mass, a concession to the Schindlers, was tentatively scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday.

Can we all agree that THIS is a private family matter, or are we going to have to watch jackals like Randall Terry insert themselves into this issue, providing us with the real spectacle of jackals fighting over a corpse?

Could I get a restraining order now to keep serial adulterer Randall Terry and crazy Father Frank Pavone away from me if I even end up in the same condition as Ms. Schiavo? Any lawyers out there?

Do you expect the vultures in the media to just let this story go? The Jacko trial is not a ratings bonanza and the sharks swarming in FLorida have yet to attack anyone. Good lord, are they supposed to cover Real News??? Oh the humanity!!

Id like to know how much a 30-second spot was selling for during the entire mess. Lets see them spin this family feud into 24/7 coverage.

A :30 second spot during the Schiavo mess was selling for the same as it was the week before. These contracts are pre-bought months, sometimes a full year, in advance. The way this will affect ad revenues is by increasing the average overall station ratings and possibly attract new viewers to the stations. If we want to be completely ghoulish, the stations are probably upset because this didn’t happen during a sweeps month and therefore they won’t have specific demos to show adveritisers.

I didn’t know that the American Trial Lawyers Association was having a convention in Florida this year! (grin)

Did anyone see that clip of Randall Terry singing at the memorial service? He sounded like the love child of John Tesh and Art Garfunkle.

I think this provides some very damning insight into the character of one Michael Schiavo.
