Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

“Everybody’s entitled to be an idiot.”

Reality always lies in wait for … Democrats.

An almost top 10,000 blog!

“Can i answer the question? No you can not!”

Let’s finish the job.

This year has been the longest three days of putin’s life.

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

Despite his magical powers, I don’t think Trump is thinking this through, to be honest.

Jesus, Mary, & Joseph how is that election even close?

🎶 Those boots were made for mockin’ 🎵

T R E 4 5 O N

We are aware of all internet traditions.

And we’re all out of bubblegum.

I’d hate to be the candidate who lost to this guy.

We still have time to mess this up!

So it was an October Surprise A Day, like an Advent calendar but for crime.

This really is a full service blog.

I was promised a recession.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

Republican obstruction dressed up as bipartisanship. Again.

Battle won, war still ongoing.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

The words do not have to be perfect.

Wingnut Update

I referred to it yesterday, but here is one of the leaders of the ‘moral majority’ in all his glory:

Federal judges are a more serious threat to America than Al Qaeda and the Sept. 11 terrorists, the Rev. Pat Robertson claimed yesterday.

“Over 100 years, I think the gradual erosion of the consensus that’s held our country together is probably more serious than a few bearded terrorists who fly into buildings,” Robertson said on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”

“I think we have controlled Al Qaeda,” the 700 Club host said, but warned of “erosion at home” and said judges were creating a “tyranny of oligarchy.”

Confronted by Stephanopoulos on his claims that an out-of-control liberal judiciary is the worst threat America has faced in 400 years – worse than Nazi Germany, Japan and the Civil War – Robertson didn’t back down.

“Yes, I really believe that,” he said. “I think they are destroying the fabric that holds our nation together.”

Of course, others in the wingnut brigade see different threats:

Before he became a born-again Christian and later a rising national star in the world of black evangelical ministers, the Rev. Ken Hutcherson started playing football because, he said, it was the best way he could think of to “hurt white people…”

Many African-American ministers and conservative Christians share Dr. Hutcherson’s opposition to same-sex marriage, which he calls “the greatest danger to America.” But Dr. Hutcherson also often criticizes gay rights activists for drawing comparisons between their quest for equal rights and antidiscrimination laws and the struggles of other groups facing prejudice.

*** Update ***

Now that I think about it, these are completely logically consistent statements- if you are a wild-eyed, raving, spittle-flecks-on-the-monitor style lunatic:

Appearing with the Rev. Pat Robertson on “The 700 Club,” Mr. Falwell said that “the ACLU’s got to take a lot of blame for this.” By “throwing out God successfully with the help of the federal court system,” it seems, the civil liberties group incurred the Deity’s displeasure, leading Him to withhold his protection of America against terrorist attacks.

But others were responsible, too, Mr. Falwell allowed: “The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way — all of them who have tried to secularize America — I point the finger in their face and say, ‘You helped this happen.’ ”

Mr. Falwell later said his remarks had been taken out of context. But asked by a New York Times reporter to elaborate, he reiterated his basic point: “I sincerely believe that the collective efforts of many secularists during the past generation, resulting in the expulsion [of God] from our schools and from the public square, has left us vulnerable.”

Mr. Falwell added that he did not believe God “had anything to do with the tragedy,” but that God had “lifted the curtain of protection.”

Judges = more fags and more abortions = lack of preotection from God= greenlight for terrorists to attack us while vulnerable.

Lunatics.

Well, you don’t have to go to the preachers for nuttiness, here’s Jim Bunning in 2004:

“Mr. President, I thank the chairman for yielding. I rise to discuss probably the most important issue this body or I have ever debated on the floor of the Senate since I have been a member, 6 years. Our Nation faces a potential disaster.”

I won’t keep you in suspense; he was talking about gay marriage during the Senate debate on adopting a Constitutional amendment.

Of course, Robertson was the “that’s right, Jerry” sidekick to Falwell when Falwell went on and on about the ACLU and lesbians causing God to lift his hand of protection from America on 9/11.

Well, these are exactly the same remarks these two made — to each other — on the 700 Club back in the days immediately after 9-11. I mean, while the ruins were still smoking, they said this shit.

How and why the press and moderates everywhere do not see the lunacy and the vile evilness of these men and the messages they send, is beyond me. It’s as if the animals have been given permission to run the asylum.

Just to muddy things up a bit more: the 11 September enormities were carried out by clean-shaven terrorists.

    …the press and moderates everywhere…

Your way of stating “liberals and moderates,” or where you equating them?

    Cordially…

P.S. There isn’t much smack-down on our larger media. Especially when the would-be targets aren’t really in the running to lead anything.

By “lead anything,” I meant a public-office kind of thing

Welcome to the modern face of the Republican party.

Pat Robertson came in second in the 1988 Republican caucus. This isn’t a fringe… it’s the core.

Oh Great Caesar: 17 years ago, and a single caucus out of numerous primaries, etc.

Robertson came about as close to the Oval Office as Dennis Kuchinich. Only lil Dennis was much more recent. Thus, the “modern face of the Democratic Party?” Werks4me.

    Cordially…
