Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

You cannot shame the shameless.

The fight for our country is always worth it. ~Kamala Harris

Fear and negativity are contagious, but so is courage!

We will not go quietly into the night; we will not vanish without a fight.

Putting aside our relentless self-interest because the moral imperative is crystal clear.

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

This really is a full service blog.

Republican speaker of the house Mike Johnson is the bland and smiling face of evil.

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

T R E 4 5 O N

My years-long effort to drive family and friends away has really paid off this year.

The unpunished coup was a training exercise.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

The republican speaker is a slippery little devil.

Cancel the cowardly Times and Post and set up an equivalent monthly donation to ProPublica.

“Alexa, change the president.”

He really is that stupid.

Michigan is a great lesson for Dems everywhere: when you have power…use it!

I like political parties that aren’t owned by foreign adversaries.

Dear elected officials: Trump is temporary, dishonor is forever.

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

Wow, I can’t imagine what it was like to comment in morse code.

Today in our ongoing national embarrassment…

Microsoft to “Hutch”- F**K You

It appears that Microsoft is now reversing course, moving from a neutral stance on adding sexual orientation to a law that already prevents discrimination based on age, religion and a host of other things, to outright advocacy for adding sexual orientation.

The entire letter can be seen here.

I fully expect a boycott and a rewrite of the old GM commercial (commercial is down to the lower right) to suit the needs of the gay-bashers:

“Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Computers and Chevrolet.”

More on the person who will soon be polluting the airwaves telling us how evil homosexuals are…

I really, really, really do not understand the overt hostility of some towards homosexuals in this country. I just don’t get it.

*** Update ***

MSM is now on the story.

IT’S BECAUSE THEY ARE A THREAT TO ALL THAT IS *cough*…Sorry. A lot of it boils down to the whole “dudes is disgusting” squicky feeling that most of us heterosexual males get when we see or think about two men going to town on each other. Unfortunately, some people take it past the “not my cup of tea” mode and turn it into the scourge of the nation/buggery, buggery, buggery issue.

I notice that it’s rare that the anti-gay folks ever criticize Angelina Jolie, an admitted bisexual. Hmm.. three guesses as to why.

By the way John, Kudos to you for the past couple months of posting. It’s rare to see someone confront the orthodoxy of their party as honestly and openly as you have, when you disagree. I wish more moderates on both sides would stand up for their own beliefs the way that you have, rather than just retreat behind party lines because “party triumphs person”.

It’s incredibly enjoyable to see a political position that can move beyond talking points and sound bites, and can articulate a philosophy that doesn’t adhere to the party line.

    Keep up the good work.

Jesus himself is not quoted on the subject of homosexuality. He spoke a lot about not divorcing. He hung around with prostitutes, tax collectors and other flotsam of the Roman Empire. Talked a lot about loving your neighbor, visiting prisoners, caring for the sick and feeding the poor.

People who try to justify their homophobia with the Bible either use Leviticus in the Old Testament, although Jesus said those old rules no longer applied, or they use one of the later books of the Bible (I think it was Romans, although I’m not sure).

Anyway, not using Jesus’ words. When they wanna get weird they go to Revelations, from which they can justify all sorts of ghastly inhuman acts. It’s hard to spin hate out of “LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR.”

I’ve been wondering about ‘Hutch’ and his church.

Their website has a store, from which you can buy things.

I’m not sure why they need the revenue, though, because they don’t have a church. They use a public school’s gymnasium.

I betcha the money goes to help Hutch maintain a pro-footbal standard of living.

I don’t mind a gay rights bill, but how will this affect groups like the boy scouts, or churches. Will they now be able to be sued if they will not hire a gay person. Will this go against their 1st Amendment right to freely assemble. Does the current legislation address this? Just curious.

    Stormy,

It wouldn’t apply to churches, I can tell you that. Churches have broad latitude in selecting membership; after all, it would make no sense to say that a church cannot discriminate on the basis of religion. Unless they accept public funds as part of a government program, of course, but that’s a different matter altogether. This primarily concerns business/employment.

As for the Boy Scouts, I am not up to speed with the current status of the Boy Scouts, but my money would be on the same principle applying to that organization as well.

Heh, there have been people all over campus with signs supporting the tolerant side of this debate.

MS is an interesting corperate culture. About 3/4ths over 30 married men, and 1/4th freaks. The thing is, without the freaks, it wouldn’t work. There are many facilities people who have been fired for complaining about the fact that dev teams will play golf and break the windows on Friday when working towards a deadline. They get publicly eviscerated by Brian Valentine, as well as fired.

Some of the war stories from xbox are scandalous in every way. It brings to mind the pimpitude of Benjamin Franklin. America was founded by freaks. Innovation continues to be driven by freaks. Fly your freak flag high.
