The new Xbox was officially unveiled. Damn shit yeah!
Also, I was chatting on the phone with a friend last night while gorging on Turkey Hill Choco Mint Chip ice cream, and he had never heard of Turkey Hill.
How can this be? Turkey Hill is the best damned ice cream in the world, and I won’t budge. Is this a regional product, and there are poor folks all over the United States who have never had Turkey Hill? Damned tragedy if that is the case. Love that Pennsylvania Dutch country. But then again, there are probably a lot of people who have never tasted the wonders of fried scrapple with eggs over easy, waffles, syrup and hot sauce.
FYI- If you ever watch the Sopranos, check out the label on the ice cream Tony eats. And if Choco Mint Chip isn’t your thing, I highly recommend the Orange Cream Swirl, Strawberries and Cream, and the Sweet Cherry Vanilla.
Speaking of strawberries, I bought some from Georgia and from California on the side of the road the other day, and they were unbelievable. I ate a whole container for lunch. I couldn’t stop.

Sorry I never heard of it. For ice cream I am a Ben & Jerry’s fan for the exotic tastes. Godfather, Cherry Garcia and Pistacio Pistacio are the top 3. For straight chocolate, vanilla or strawberry Haagen Daas takes it.

Blue Bell is the ice cream of choice in Texas. Any flavor with caramel in it will be consumed in copious quantities. Sigh. I don’t eat ice cream anymore. I’ve never heard of Turkey Hill, but I’ll keep my eyes peeled in the grocery store.

I’ve never heard of Turkey Hill either. Sounds like a cheap booze.

Never heard of Turkey Hill Ice Cream here in Missouri but have fond childhood memories of scrapple.

fried scrapple (similar/same to llivermush down here)…. good stuff. Also good uncooked on a sandwich with mayo and chedder cheese….

I have lived for significant periods in Florida, California, and Washington (state), and I have never heard of Turkey Hill ice cream. However, I have heard of scrapple. My parents grew up in Philadelphia, and my father is a scrapple fiend. I enjoyed it too, until I found out of what it is made.
As far as best ice cream, Godiva Chocolate Raspberry Truffle ice cream. It’s also guilt-free, since it is owned by Campbell’s Soup (mmm mmm good).

We have Turkey Hill here in Maryland too. I think it’s a Mid-Atlantic thing. I usually go for Green’s though.
Mmmm. Scrapple. Fried and crumbled over a hot onion and cheese omlette, with buttered hominy on the side. Delicious.

Thumbs up on Turkey Hill (they also make the best ice cream sandwiches).
Thumbs down on scrapple….and chitlins….and tongue…and any other of the parts my grandma tried to make me eat. ;)

Back when I could eat ice cream, I ate Breyer’s. Turkey Hill’s not something I’m familiar with, and I grew up in Chicago, so it hadn’t even gottent that far.

I have not only heard of Turkey Hill, I also toured the Turkey Hill plant near Lancaster, PA and drove by it on the way to the mall a lot. Born and bred in PA Dutch Country. Brings back memories of childhood. By the way, that area is one of the snack capitals of the country too. Utz, Snyders, Bon Ton, Hanover, pretzlels, chips, etc.

Turkey Hill hasn’t made it to Georgia yet, as far as I can tell. I can assure you, though, that even if it does I won’t be having it as long as Mayfield is still in business. Mayfield is the Best! Ice cream! Evar!
