There has been so much bullshit surrounding the judicial nominees that I don’t know where to even rank this doozy, but it is up there:
The deal was a defeat for Bush, who on Monday had again demanded straight up or down votes on all his nominees. It also was a blow to religious conservatives, who have advocated for more socially conservative judges and who put considerable pressure on Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., and Senate Republicans to change the filibuster rule. The Christian conservative Family Research Council had e-mailed supporters asking them to “pray that no compromise will be allowed which will let this unprecedented use of the filibuster remain.”
Apparently, God likes the filibuster. Or maybe he is just tired of a few shills taking his name in vain for purely political reasons.

I spoke to God on my celphone only today, and He said that he voted Democratic. He also said that he has HBO up there just so He can watch Bill Maher.

You have it wrong, according to my reading, the quote from the Christian conservative Research Council is asking god to defeat the compromise. So it’s incorrest to say “Apparently, God likes the filibuster”. They meant the exact opposite.

You have to be careful of people who speak to God directly. Apparently its only okay if groups like MoveOn and the American way lobby. Hmm unusual definition of democracy.
