Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Celebrate the fucking wins.

I am pretty sure these ‘journalists’ were not always such a bootlicking sycophants.

The rest of the comments were smacking Boebert like she was a piñata.

I did not have this on my fuck 2025 bingo card.

… gradually, and then suddenly.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

“They all knew.”

I like political parties that aren’t owned by foreign adversaries.

Yeah, with this crowd one never knows.

🎶 Those boots were made for mockin’ 🎵

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

“A king is only a king if we bow down.” – Rev. William Barber

Republicans seem to think life begins at the candlelight dinner the night before.

Perhaps you mistook them for somebody who gives a damn.

There are times when telling just part of the truth is effectively a lie.

No Kings: Americans standing in the way of bad history saying “Oh, Fuck No!”

Take hopelessness and turn it into resilience.

Giving in to doom is how authoritarians win.

Let the trolls come, and then ignore them. that’s the worst thing you can do to a troll.

If you still can’t see these things even now, maybe politics isn’t your forte and you should stop writing about it.

Let’s not be the monsters we hate.

SCOTUS: It’s not “bribery” unless it comes from the Bribery region of France. Otherwise, it’s merely “sparkling malfeasance”.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires.

I Must Have Angered Someone

Sometime in the past ten days, I must have pissed off the folks at the Huffington Post, because I must now suffer the humiliation of having been de-linked by Arianna and company.

I was there on the 17th, and then banished from the ranks of the exalted on the 18th. The shame.

However will I go on?

You got the “ta-ta” from Zsa-Zsa? Hope it wasn’t something I wrote.

    Cordially…

Just smile, nod, and back away slowly, John. The last thing you need is Zsa-Zsa Throatstomper deciding that she wants to declare vendetta on you. If you stay still and silent for a moment, she’ll wander off to continue her hunt for a new husband/figurehead and leave you be.

Face it, you’re just not fit to be in the company of Oliver Willis.

I remember way back when the HufPo was a big deal. But then I realized it’s a bunch of mindless squealing by the guy who plays Mr. Burns and the HBO boxing guy with the hair.

So, is that thing still around?

Who reads the Huffington Post anyway? I think I’ve gone there twice, but I come here everyday.

Apparently they got wind of the fact that you HATE AMERICA.

You are now an official enemy of the state.

I visited her blog once and haven’t gone back. It looked like something a high school class would put together, only not quite as good.

I wonder if she got bad guidance, or didn’t listen to good guidance?

I like her blog and I think it is truly ashame that they took you off the blog roll, while still keeping blogs like “little green nutjobs” on there.

I read something there the other day but can’t find it now (forgot exactly wher it was written. Anyway it mentioned that the Iraq war dead number of 1700 is deceptive since it only counted soldiers who died on Iraq soil. If you were injured and died in Germany or enroute you weren’t counted as part of the 1700 meaning the number is actually much higher. Probably BS but if not the story needs to get out there.

JG – that story was complete BS, and the idiot who posted it asked the moderators to remove his post. They didn’t do it, though. I think it was the HBO boxing guy.

The Huffington Post is to blogging and political commentary what Celebrity Jeopardy is to game shows and scholarship.

while still keeping blogs like “little green nutjobs” on there.

That’s the whole point. We been working really hard on the left to show that the conservatives are nuttier than a Christmas fruitcake. It doesn’t help us at all that John stubborn-mindedly persists in being so reasonable. :p

Huffington Post is part of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy’s effort to disredit the Celebrity Left by showing how vacuous they are. It’s really brilliant.

Did you even notice? The one time when I commented on a piece by Jay Gordon, I only got around two or three referral hits from it over a whole week.
