Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Why is it so hard for them to condemn hate?

I like political parties that aren’t owned by foreign adversaries.

A democracy can’t function when people can’t distinguish facts from lies.

If a good thing happens for a bad reason, it’s still a good thing.

America is going up in flames. The NYTimes fawns over MAGA celebrities. No longer a real newspaper.

Accountability, motherfuckers.

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

Donald Trump found guilty as fuck – May 30, 2024!

Oppose, oppose, oppose. do not congratulate. this is not business as usual.

Within six months Twitter will be fully self-driving.

Weird. Rome has an American Pope and America has a Russian President.

Republicans don’t lie to be believed, they lie to be repeated.

Our job is not to persuade republicans but to defeat them.

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

Welcome to day five of every-bit-as-bad-as-you-thought-it-would-be.

Museums are not America’s attic for its racist shit.

DeSantis transforming Florida into 1930s Germany with gators and theme parks.

Let the trolls come, and then ignore them. that’s the worst thing you can do to a troll.

Perhaps you mistook them for somebody who gives a damn.

How stupid are these people?

People identifying as christian while ignoring christ and his teachings is a strange thing indeed.

The fight for our country is always worth it. ~Kamala Harris

Speaker Mike Johnson is a vile traitor to the House and the Constitution.

You passed on an opportunity to be offended? What are you even doing here?

The Rev. Moon

Big American Prospect piece on the Rev. Moon, who, by any normal standards, is insane, and who is involved in a lot of shady dealings:

An American Prospect investigation reveals that The Washington Times offices, housed in an imposing building on a northeast Washington strip otherwise known for tire shops and fast-food joints, serve as the base of operations for Moon

Moon. Hmmm, doesn’t he own some big conservative newspaper?

Yeah, he owns the Washington Times.

He also owns the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, right by where I grew up. I’m glad I was largely in the dark about the reality of the Moonies back then because I shudder to think what sort of horrible influence they could’ve had. Moon himself is certifiable, and though he occasionally tries to position his church as merely another sect of Christianity (Methodist, Baptist, Episcopalian…Moonie), it is not Christian at all and in fact is every bit the body-snatching cult that Scientology is.

He ought to be International A.N.S.W.E.R.’s chaplain, if he’s that cozy with the ronery Nork Kim.

Have you ever noticed how much O’Reilly and Hannity rant about George Soros but they never utter a peep about Sun-Myung Moon (an absolute freak show), Richard Mellon-Scaife or, heaven forbid, Ruppert Murdoch?

I believe too many people think that they will escape an accurate account of our current history – that years from now we won’t set the record straight about what occurred in these times. These people are sorely mistaken. History will not be kind to Bush & Co. and all their supporters.

Why is that any surprise. The rightie collection you mention is subject to ranting elsewhere in broadcasting and print.

Yeah, Randi Rhodes is going to skewer Soros and Ted Turner any day now. A grip, please.

In defense of jim, I do not believe the folks at Air America ever claimed to be:

    “Fair and Balanced”.

In defense of Fox and my boys Rupert and Roger Ailes, O’Reilly and the starboard side of Hannity & Colmes are not newscasts. They are point of view programs, like Now with Bill Moyers, and Hardball.

I read the Washington Times, uhoh I guess that makes me a Moonieite also…..must be something they put in the ink.

Can anyone find for me one salient difference between Moon and a James Bond villain?

Uhhh…the Rev.’s “drive for world domination” has been stuck in neutral for the entire 25 years of the panic about it.

The Bond villians make actually headway before they’re thwarted.

Moon has roots in the fascist Japanese occupation of Korea during WWII. He had relations with the likes of Kodama and other Japanese war criminals who got rehabilitated under our own fascist, Doug MacArthur, during America’s post-war occupation of Japan.

A few years ago George H. W. Bush was getting paid big bucks (I believe it was a half million a speech) to talk at a number of Moonie events in South America.

And Moon is a megalomaniac, but people I’ve met who are crazy don’t amass huge fortunes. They usually shuffle along city streets talking to their invisible demons.

And yet he can get Senate rooms for crowning himself “King of America” anytime he wants.

If only Republicans would treat their Democratic loyal opposition as well as they treat the heads of cults, would-be royalists, and convicted criminals.

Responding to an earlier post, what networks or news outlets do Soros and Turner control? Turner founded CNN, but has no power there now.

So Randi Rhodes would criticize them for…what? Being rich?

Well excuse me: Les Moonvies, Michael Moore, Norman Lear.

Please, no obtuseness. We’re trying to cut down around here.
