Anyone heard anything else about this:
Late Sunday night, American marines watching the skyline from their second-story perch in an abandoned house here saw a curious thing: in the distance, mortar and gunfire popped, but the volleys did not seem to be aimed at them. In the dark, one spoke in hushed code words on a radio, and after a minute found the answer. “Red on red,” he said, using a military term for enemy-on-enemy fire.
Curious.

Caught some of this on a couple of MSM news programs this morning commenting on recent red on red clashes. Looks like the Baathists are shooting it out with the Islmofacists for the title of Most Misguided Ideology of Iraq. Not sure that it’s a good or bad thing, but it sounds like the Baathists are getting the idea that the clock will NOT turn back and they need to get a voice in the new Gov’t or risk being maginalized.

Maybe its the beginning of that civil war we’ve been hearing about.

Between ethnic feuds, religious feuds, (money-only) crime gangs, the settling of old scores, and running around at night full of adrenaline with the safety off, it probably happens a lot.

Glenn had a post on this yesterday with a bit more info:

Maybe it’s the “fundamental” incompatibility between the Islamists and the Ba’athists we’ve been hearing about. The one that purported to mean Saddam had “no ties” to terrorism.
Cordially…

That was in a NYT article Tuesday, if you want more info. Don’t know if that’s where you also got that from.

Rick, are you, perhaps, deprived of knowledge about the world? Perhaps, if you had been a German soldier on the Eastern Front in WWII, you would have figured that the present of UK/US equipment meant that the UK, USA and USSR had been in league all along, as propaganda suggested?
Rick
Barry,
Awfully good try at making some historical analogy, but you strained your skull muscles in so doing.
Let’s be direct: what is your criticism? That Saddam had not ties with practicing terrorists, or that civil war is about to erupt Iraq?
Cordially…
