Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Never forget that he train is barreling down on Trump, even as he dances on the tracks.

Something needs to be done about our bogus SCOTUS.

I’m sure you banged some questionable people yourself. We’re allowed to grow past that.

When the time comes to make an endorsement, the pain of NYT editors will be palpable as they reluctantly whisper “Biden.”

In short, I come down firmly on all sides of the issue.

Someone should tell Republicans that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, or possibly the first.

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

If you’re pissed about Biden’s speech, he was talking about you.

Republicans: slavery is when you own me. freedom is when I own you.

At some point, the ability to learn is a factor of character, not IQ.

The gop couldn’t organize an orgy in a whorehouse with a fist full of 50s.

… pundit janitors mopping up after the gop

I know this must be bad for Joe Biden, I just don’t know how.

Why is it so hard for them to condemn hate?

Bogus polls are all they’ve got left. Let’s bury these fuckers at the polls a year from now.

This must be what justice looks like, not vengeful, just peaceful exuberance.

… riddled with inexplicable and elementary errors of law and fact

Fight them, without becoming them!

…and a burning sense of injustice to juice the soul.

You come for women, you’re gonna get your ass kicked.

We need to vote them all out and restore sane Democratic government.

They are lying in pursuit of an agenda.

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

And now I have baud making fun of me. this day can’t get worse.

A certain episode in the middle of season #5 titled the Body was one of the most traumatic hours of television I have watched- as well as one of the most realistic portrayals of- well, I don’t want to ruin it for those who have not seen it.

What a great show this BTVS is…

Thanks to Russ Emerson for the update. If you have any other comments or suggestions, this is the place to put them- all previous suggestions will be superceded by the updates we have already done and your new comments.

And we are working on the comment posting bug, so don’t mention that.

Thanks for your input, and thanks to the gracious individual who sent a nice donation the other day.

It was pretty good, wasn’t it? Strange how that totally outlandish show and its spinoff managed to work simultaneously as intelligent comedy and intelligent drama — I find I still miss the Buffyverse. (And — while admittedly I didn’t start really watching either show until late in Season 4 — I still think that Season 5 was probbly the best of the lot.)

To celebrate the occasion that Erik and I have watched the complete series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on DVD I have decided to list my Top 10 15 episodes of all time (hey, I tried to keep the list to 10 … you’re lucky I kept it under 20!).

Nice top 10 list, Stormy70. My wife and I got the complete Buffy as a wedding present and I’m looking forward to watching the whole incredible sequence again with her.

The Body is one of the greatest hours of TV period. There are many of these throughout the seven seasons. BTVS is better the second and third time you go through the series. I have no life. lol
Make sure you check out the special freatures section. Joss explains the making of the episode. I usually don’t waste my time listening to the audio commenaries while an episode is playing because you get a lot of ” I loved working with you” and ” You too” but listening to Joss piece this episode and the brilliant “Hush” together further explains his genius.
ps- the added features in the comments section is a great idea.
