Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

I was promised a recession.

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

When do we start airlifting the women and children out of Texas?

Historically it was a little unusual for the president to be an incoherent babbling moron.

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

I did not have this on my fuck 2022 bingo card.

Red lights blinking on democracy’s dashboard

Imperialist aggressors must be defeated, or the whole world loses.

“Jesus paying for the sins of everyone is an insult to those who paid for their own sins.”

The next time the wall street journal editorial board speaks the truth will be the first.

Do not shrug your shoulders and accept the normalization of untruths.

rich, arrogant assholes who equate luck with genius

If you tweet it in all caps, that makes it true!

An almost top 10,000 blog!

I really should read my own blog.

The republican caucus is already covering themselves with something, and it’s not glory.

My years-long effort to drive family and friends away has really paid off this year.

Nancy smash is sick of your bullshit.

The GOP couldn’t organize an orgy in a whorehouse with a fist full of 50s.

Something needs to be done about our bogus SCOTUS.

Republicans in disarray!

Yesterday I gave you the Dobson Test, today I add the Perkins Proof:

If the FRC’s Tony Perkins is hoppping mad about something, it is a good thing.

Witness:

One conservative group called the decision devastating.

“The Ten Commandments have played a crucial role in shaping the values and legal system of the United States and of all Western Civilization as is evident in many of the buildings here in Washington. In fact, the Supreme Court building itself boasts three different displays,” said Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council.

“This ruling by the Supreme Court is not only denigrating to our culture but it undermines the very laws we already have in place. Forbidding the Ten Commandments opens the door to hostility toward religion, which is contrary to the free exercise clause of the 1st Amendment.

I think it was Snopes.com that had an article detailing all the supposed ten commandment displays and it turned out none of them were actually ten commandments displays.

“The Ten Commandments have played a crucial role in shaping the values and legal system of the United States and of all Western Civilization as is evident in many of the buildings here in Washington.

As is also evident in federal laws against polytheism, cursing, and adultery, for example. Oh, wait, I must be posting from a parallel universe.

As is evident in many of the buildings here in Washington? “In our next class we will discuss the influence of Corinthian columns on Western values over the past two centuries. . .”
