Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

I did not have this on my fuck 2025 bingo card.

SCOTUS: It’s not “bribery” unless it comes from the Bribery region of France. Otherwise, it’s merely “sparkling malfeasance”.

Stay strong, because they are weak.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

It’s all just conspiracy shit beamed down from the mothership.

The National Guard is not Batman.

Roe is not about choice. It is about freedom.

You cannot love your country only when you win.

This year has been the longest three days of putin’s life.

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

Since we are repeating ourselves, let me just say fuck that.

One lie, alone, tears the fabric of reality.

Yeah, with this crowd one never knows.

The world has changed, and neither one recognizes it.

Whoever he was, that guy was nuts.

The line between political reporting and fan fiction continues to blur.

Good lord, these people are nuts.

Historically it was a little unusual for the president to be an incoherent babbling moron.

Be a wild strawberry.

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

Everybody saw this coming.

Since when do we limit our critiques to things we could do better ourselves?

If ‘weird’ was the finish line, they ran through the tape and kept running.

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

London Bombings

Several of you have asked if I have any thoughts about the new London bombing attempts or the subsequent shooting. Other than “If he was a terrorist, shoot him again,” I have nothing to offer.

Joe Gandelman, on the other hand, has a link rich round-up.

What is there to think? Looks like Britain will have to clean out their nest of terrorist fanatics and sympathizers. Good hunting, UK.

I think it’s terrible that they shot a dusky-toned gentleman just because he was sprinting toward a train with wires trailing from his jacket and didn’t heed police orders to stop. Is that all it takes these days? Orwell would weep. Maybe the poor fellow was deaf, and the wires were for his hearing aid, and they were hanging loose and that’s why he couldn’t hear and he was running to the train before the repair shop closed. Ever think of that, George W. Bu$h?

I just find it humorous that if something happens and you don’t post on it within 24 hours that you then have a bunch of people emailing you to ask what you think.

    “Honey, come to bed.”

“I can’t, damnit!!!!! Not until I know what John Cole thinks of the London Bombings!!!”

    LOL

Did they blow a hole in him with a large caliber weapon or let him slowly bleed out from a small arms wound? Either is acceptable to me.

Hmm, seeing how it was in the UK, I do not believe US law applies, but I learned long ago that libs think logic and reason are too confining.

Don, give them a break. They’re disappointed nobody died and they couldn’t crack out their really good anti-Bush snark.

Thank you Don, that just made my day. Your apparent inability to remotely understand humor but go on a defensive attack mode strategy is just classic.

I would have expected that post from DougJ its so far out.

Is there a lack of humor around here on Fridays or is it everyday and I’m just noticing it?

Sheesh, lighten up people, take your meds and think before you blow.

If we start shooting guys just because they’re dark skinned and have wires coming out of their jackets, that’s really going to cut down on iPod sales. Somebody tell Brit Hume to sell Apple short.

White folks hear a report about a dusky skinned suspect shot dead and their first reaction is good policew work.

Black folks hear the same report and think about their last ‘driving while black stop’ or Amadu Diallo.

I hope they shot the right guy. Heaven help them if they didn’t.

That’s it. I’m going left wing for the next week.

All my comments are going to be kneejerk leftwing stupidity for the next week. It starts right here.

“They only shot him because he used Sony parts to build those bombs and he built them in-house, rather than outsourcing to Halliburton, which would have built the bombs using illicit OIIIIILLL! money in Barbados, with 6 year-old crippled workers chained to workbenches in a whorehouse.

    Besides, Bush lied.”

    Oopsie.

“The man shot dead by police in south London yesterday is not connected to attempted terror attacks on the capital, Scotland Yard said today.

“For somebody to lose their life in such circumstances is a tragedy and one that the Metropolitan Police Service regrets,” said a spokesman.

    cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/07/23/london.tube/index.html”

He didn’t ‘lose’ his life it was taken basically for being darkskinned and running for a train.

    Bastards.

And if he’s not a terrorist, you only shoot him once?
