Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Nothing says ‘pro-life’ like letting children go hungry.

You don’t get rid of your umbrella while it’s still raining.

Too often we hand the biggest microphones to the cynics and the critics who delight in declaring failure.

No Kings: Americans standing in the way of bad history saying “Oh, Fuck No!”

Democracy cannot function without a free press.

You cannot shame the shameless.

Trump’s cabinet: like a magic 8 ball that only gives wrong answers.

I desperately hope that, yet again, i am wrong.

“When somebody takes the time to draw up a playbook, they’re gonna use it.”

Dear Washington Post, you are the darkness now.

Anyone who bans teaching American history has no right to shape America’s future.

Republican also-rans: four mules fighting over a turnip.

Since when do we limit our critiques to things we could do better ourselves?

Every decision we make has lots of baggage with it, known or unknown.

Sometimes the world just tells you your cat is here.

Everything is totally normal and fine!!!

The real work of an opposition party is to oppose.

If you still can’t see these things even now, maybe politics isn’t your forte and you should stop writing about it.

Never give a known liar the benefit of the doubt.

They are lying in pursuit of an agenda.

This fight is for everything.

Conservatism: there are people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

Hey hey, RFK, how many kids did you kill today?

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

No more posting for tonight possibly, as it appears we are having the mother of all thunderstorms. That red stuff in this animated radar– that is no good.

I just love turning everything off and sitting in the dark for five hours. Fabulous.

Time to unplug the electrical appliances.

If you play a musical instrument, practicing technique in the dark is an instructive experience.

Pardon me, rilkefan, but at our house we have better use for a blackout and it doesn’t involve musical instruments. Well, not exactly.

Seriously, hope you make it through ok. Spend some quality time with your kitty, and try to connect to your inner essence. Hommmmmm.

I ‘charge’ that you have just made the worst pun ever. ‘Shockingly’ bad. ‘Currently,’ the hairs on my necks are standing up.

Just think, if you’d used a lot of “Flash” to build this site…it might even be worse. Maybe you’d even be able to “charge” due to all the “buzz” it would generate…

And I thought you came here for the grounded debate. Seems this site has instead turned into a lightning rod for puns.

Yes, John, your site is a transformer in grounded debate. I come here to get amped up for the day.
