Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

In my day, never was longer.

People are complicated. Love is not.

Hell hath no fury like a farmer bankrupted.

I am pretty sure these ‘journalists’ were not always such a bootlicking sycophants.

We are builders in a constant struggle with destroyers. keep building.

Their boy Ron is an empty plastic cup that will never know pudding.

The media handbook says “controversial” is the most negative description that can be used for a Republican.

We need to vote them all out and restore sane Democratic government.

They think we are photo bombing their nice little lives.

… pundit janitors mopping up after the gop

JFC, are there no editors left at that goddamn rag?

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

The press swings at every pitch, we don’t have to.

One lie, alone, tears the fabric of reality.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

They were going to turn on one another at some point. It was inevitable.

Dear Washington Post, you are the darkness now.

Disagreements are healthy; personal attacks are not.

It is possible to do the right thing without the promise of a cookie.

You are so fucked. Still, I wish you the best of luck.

Republican also-rans: four mules fighting over a turnip.

That’s interesting. I still don’t see what all the animus is towards her on the right. As the war goes on, as the administration continues to screw up, more and more people are going to question its merits or at least what the administration is doing about it. That’s just life. If Cindy Sheehan wasn’t prostesting, someone else would be. Moreover, knocking Sheehan because some white supremicist decideds to go down to Crawford really isn’t serving any purpose except to further ingrain one’s own animus against her. If you ask me, she’s already a fading story anyway. By attacking her, I think some of the NRO crowd is benefitting her the most–by giving her attention.

Sharpton, Neo-Nazis, when does Michael Moore show up to pitch his tent?
I assume there are already ‘Bush Sucks” tee-shirts being sold and Che Guevara and Castro’s face being seen throughout the crowd.

I seem to remember a lot of crackpots showing up at the Terri Schiavo protests. Does that mean that the issues of that case are to be cavalierly dismissed because of their presence? Ms. Sheehan, obviously inarticulate and lacking in sophistication, has touched a emotional national nerve that cannot be poo-pooed away through cheap shots at the messenger. More sophisticated left-wingers are clearly using Ms. Sheehan, but her question of “what noble cause?” is yet to be answered in any reassuring fashion.

You mean in any reassuring fashion they want. The “noble cause” question is phony because the people asking won’t like the answer no matter it is.

Of course the neo-nazi thing is completely unsolicited, just like the wingnuts in the Schiavo ordeal using donor lists to solicit to neo-nazi groups.

Say, I hear at Camp “Reality” there are diagrams of where the WMD’s really went and organizational charts directing interested parties as to the depth of the RNC involvement of their fake “grassroots” movement.

There will be seminars on how an Islam-based Republic in Iraq is different from an Islamic republic. Frank Luntz will then be flown in to teach how to give out answer difficult probing questions with platitudes and slogans, like “The troops are fighting for OUR freedoms” and “Fight Them There so we don’t have to fight them here”. The trick is to pretend to not hear follow questions like “What the hell does that mean?”.

On Sunday is the solution conflation class, where “viable exit strategy” means “cut and run” and the Fuzzy Math class where 140, 000 poorly trained and equipped Iraqi soldiers will “stand up” to an insurgency that 140,000 of the best trained and equipped soldiers in the world can’t squelch.

And oh yeah, if all the training fails, there’s always Cindy Sheehan is ugly.

Hey, a few weeks ago, didn’t the thoughtful, progressive complaint about the media go that it gave too much coverage to attractive, missing white girls?

So now we have an unbalanced, grieving middle-aged hausfrau with a circus coalescing around her. No surprize that Stormfront geeks make a beeline for the anti-Zionist “action.” Birkenstocks uber hobnailed boots.

So, let’s see, we judge people by who roots for them?

Okay, then George Bush is fired for being the darling of Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell, who blamed 9-11 on God’s desire to punish America for being sinful.

Please instruct Mr. Bush to get his shit and get out.

He is also fired for being the darling of the drug addict and teenage-girl-abuser, Rush Slimeball.

Mr. Bush, please get your shit and get out.

He is also fired for being the tool of religious lunatic and asshole James Dobson.

Mr. Bush, please get your shit and get out.

Okay, so much for a little overdue housecleaning.

Neo-Nazis? Al Sharpton? Freedom fighters killed her son? She is now in over her head. Full-fledged Moonbat territory ahead. I tried to keep quiet, but the anti-semitism has gotten to be just too much. Trust the Left to excuse the neo-nazi crazies coming out of the woodwork to support Cindy Sheehan. She is just a far out hippy who craves the media attention, who tends to escape her handlers and mouth stupid inanities about the War on Terror. Thank God September is around the corner, and this story will go away.

No dummy. We’ll judge her based upon her asinine comments about the war in Iraq being about the Jewwwwwws and Israel, which is exactly what David Duke, Stormfront and I’m sure Al Sharpton believe as well.

Last time I checked President Bush wasn’t nodding his head and agreeing with Falwell’s and Robertsons’s comments about 9/11.

I keep hearing about this statement, but no definitive proof it actually exists. Would someone please point me to where I can find this quote. Also, please point me to the quote where Cindy Sheehan says “America is not worth dying for” because I hear a lot of conservatives spit that out, but never an exact quote.

I remember her saying something to the effect of we can effectively end terrorism by getting the U.S. out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine. How that is anti-semitic, I don’t know. I would consider the Right Wing “Christian” support of Israel…to prepare the Jerusalem landing strip for Jesus before he makes them convert or sends them to hell, anti-semitic.

Also, what’s with this hippie stuff. Ms. Sheehan was 12 in 1970. What war are you wingnuts fighting. Hippies don’t exist. The anti-Iraq war MAJORITY consists of your neighbors, your co-workers, and your family. The free-love hippie crowd existing today is a myth.

We want to challenge these leftists with the fact that their leftist leaders, like Hillary Clinton, are on the same War for Israel team as the cowardly Republicans who have been bought and paid for in the Senate, House, White House, and Media by the Jewish Neocon political machine.

They arn’t supporting Cindy, they are just looking for an excuse. Good try on that smear though, try again and we’ll see if you can do better next time.

What’s being anti-semitic got to do with going to Iraq?
The good thing is that even though most Americans now think the war was a mistake, they also still realize that liberals have absolutely nothing to offer that makes any sense to them, so they’ll probably still vote Republican. That’s the best part of all.

There are many ways to look at Cindy Sheehan’s unfolding story.

    1. IF YOU ARE RUNNING FOR DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION AND ARE SEEN WITH CINDY SHEEHAN YOU ARE DOOMED.

    a. The polls show that Cindy Sheehan is a polarizing figure – 35% favorable and 38% unfavorable.

    b. Well, Sen. John Edwards didn’t have balls and got his wife, Elizabeth Edwards to send a letter of support. Shall we call him another “castrated Democrat”? Mr. Edwards you are pathetic.

    2. CINDY SHEEHAN IS THE SPOKESWOMAN FOR THE DEMOCRATIC FOREIGN POLICY.

After all, the Iraq war is THE foreign policy of our time and no Democratic leader gets so much attention as Cindy or offers an alternative plan as she does.

    Sen.
    “SISSY biden”
    – the “smartest man in the Senate” (my ass) – and the shadow Secretary of State, you seem like the perfect nominee of the Democratic Party in 08. Spare us and don’t run, you neutered kitty.

    And change that ugly toupe.

    3. HOW MANY DEMOCRATIC SISSY SENATORS WHO ARE ON THE SIDELINE WILL BEG FOR MONEY AND VOTES FROM CINDY’S SUPPORTERS? Sen. Biden, Sen. Edwards, Sen. Kerry, et al.

    4. ITS OFFICIAL – AL GORE IS NOT RUNNING IN 08.
“AL GORE CALLS CINDY SHEEHAN TO TONE DOWN HER DRIVE”

    5. HOW DID A PRIVATE GRIEF BECOME A PUBLIC POLICY?
Its clear that President Bush will not meet with her. Its also clear that Cindy will not leave “Camp Casey.” Hmmm…how long will this last? Until 06? 08?

    6. IS CINDY SHEEHAN AN ANTI-SEMITE? If so, why won’t the Dems repudiate her?

“Cindy Sheehan To Assess Zionist Doctors And Pres. Bush’s Reckless Health Care Policies”

    7. REMEMBER THE 60S? PUBLIC IS PRIVATE AND PRIVATE IS PUBLIC? Well, now Cindy’s divorce is the center of polemics.

    8. Its official – Al Sharpton is running in 08.

Glad you whack-jobs are straightening out the moobat party line on my allegedly drunken, f-you “tool-ness.”

My relations with you aren’t respectful, admiring or friendly. Merely correct.

    Cordially…

Uh, I think you misunderstood, Rick.

Well your words mark you as a paranoid person who only ever scrapes the surface on any issue so this makes sense.

“You may think I’m joking, but I’m not. I believe that Republicans today put their party ahead of everything and everybody, all the time. I think they’d carjack their own grandmother if they thought it would win them a precinct.”

Oh I know you’re not joking, I just don’t care.

    Dear Leader: 100,000 dead
    Cindy Sheehan: 0 dead

Dear “fucking ‘Arbusto Grande’ loser” Leader wins.

Deal with it folks. Democracy is messy because most people are 7th graders, lead by 6th graders. But, it gets worse. Every once in a while we get a 5th grader in the WH … and a bunch in the congress … and the judiciary.
