I can feel the love…
Brad R.
Dude, it was like microscopic gnomes sawed open my skull and flipped my brain upside down. I can’t believe I agree with Malkin about something.
Demdude
I guess after reading some of Malkin’s writings, since she was right on something, the old saying of “even a stopped clock is right two times a day”.
Demdude
Oh, and please John, just one a day on these. Ann Coulter being right on something today would send most of us over the edge.

Must give Malkin her props. She is right on here.
The “Brownie” episode accounts for about 66.6% of my outrage in this situation. It was a memorable failure of leadership on the part of Spud. I mean, the president.
John S.
I think Bush got his love for nicknames from his burning desire to emulate ‘The Gipper’.

Obviously, somebody’s hacked michelle malkin’s website and replaced its usual content with logic.

Nah, Brad, you don’t have to feel good about what she’s written. She talks about holding her two kids close and praying…as a good leftie, all you need to do is “nurture your children’s well-being”.
Of course, I’m a bad leftie…I’m off to cuddle my kids and pray.

No, Michelle is denouncing Michael Brown in order to protect Bush.
Look: Brown deserves to be not just fired, but horsewhipped, and then put in prison for years and years.
But who put him in charge?
Who said “Brownie, you’re doing one heck of a job”?
Who has not said, “Brownie, you screwed the pooch on this one. Get out of my sight. Get out of my way. I’m gonna turn FEMA over to someone who knows what they’re doing”?
ppGaz
I think that was said by Mrs. Brownie.

You know, these occasional glimpses of intellectual honesty are the only things that continue to give me at least a little bit of hope for our country.

We pretty much have to dismiss everything that comes out of Malkins mouth (or keyboard) as being self interested and politically motivated.
In regards to Brown, I think the quote of the week is this: “He’s done a hell of a job, because I’m not aware of any Arabian horses being killed in this storm,” said Kate Hale, former Miami-Dade emergency management chief.
Read the whole article It seethes with righteous anger.

Under Clinton responsibility for everything that went wrong always ended at the president’s desk. Funny how things change.
SeesThroughIt
Funny indeed. While it’s good that even a lamebrain like Malkin can see how horrible “Brownie” is, I, like some S,N commenters, wonder if Malkin (and others) will take the next step and begin to notice the incredibly destructive pattern of Bush appointing/promoting people based on loyalty rather than competence.
B. Ross
Gee, I’d have to guess “no.”
Doug
Brownie’s got a Presidential Medal of Freedom coming to him. No doubt about it.
Otto Man
Well, that, or a promotion to head all of Homeland Security.
Tim F
I probably ought to make clear that I’m not accusing Malkin of intentionally shielding Bush from blame by savaging some sacrificial peon, although I wouldn’t put it past the rightwing blogosphere in general. It seems like she’s genuinely pissed and I can’t imagine anybody who wouldn’t be.
It’s probably perfectly subconscious. Nonetheless let’s have some consistency here. If every failure that happens under an administration is the fault of the president then let it be so.
jobiuspublius
It’s funny to see the Malkins react when they feel betrayed, rubes. Took long enough for he mothering insticts to get glasses.
Brian
Yep, she can’t come to the obvious conclusion of the Brownie appointment… that it’s just one more in a long line of right-wing bozos who are deemed competent based on loyalty to the President and little, if anything, else.
I’m waiting for Dubya to defend Brownie by telling us what a stand-up guy he is. Though perhaps Rove sees him as a useful firewall at this point.
