Steelers Ahead

Steelers lead 20-7 at halftime. Barring a disastrous second half, things look good for the good guys.

And if you are looking for other commentary, you might as well go read Jeff, who hast two posts up (here and here) dealing with the Katrina fall-out.

“The federal government pretty much met its standard time lines, but the volume of support provided during the 72-96 hour was unprecedented. The federal response here was faster than Hugo, faster than Andrew, faster than Iniki, faster than Francine and Jeanne.”

Wonderful. FEMA is now slightly better than the absolute disaster it was before Clinton put Witt in charge. So the article ignores eight years of excellent disaster recovery during the Clinton era, and most tellingly, the great federal response to hurricanes last year.

What an honest and convincing “alternate story line”.

The Titans are either even more pathetic than I thought they would be, or the Steelers are far more good than I thought, and I figured they would be one of the top three or four teams in the league. My man Randle is having a great game :).

Rigggght. Ask the victims of Hurricane Floyd and Hurricane Georges.

Cripes, you people would happily suck Clinton’s ass even if he had a knife in your back.

How come the Steelers always blow playoff games at home? BTW, its been 26 years since the Steelers were NFL champs. The Raiders have won two Super Bowls since then.

And the same can’t be said for Bush people, who actually has knifed this country in the back?

Back to the Steelers, I’m starting to think it’s both: The Titans are absolutely awful, and the Steelers are very very good. I look forward to the Steelers/Colts game. That should be a doozy.

Good start for the Steelers, but today I am a Saints fan.

Yeah, I too was happy to see the Saints win, though I wish they would have thrown to Horn more (On my fantasy team).

What an intereting slice of time. The response in the 72-96 hour window was unprecedented. Cool, but I have to ask…

How did it compare in the pre-zero, the 0 to 24, the 24 to 48, and the 48 to 72 hour windows? As I recall (and since it’s memory it could be faulty) in all cases there was quite a bit of pre- or early post-response.

Let me put it this way, Bushites:

We had a hurricane, and you lost.

    Get over it.

For the Steelers the MVP in today’s game was the Titans defense, followed closely by the Titans offense. Parker’s transcendent running game just rubbed salt into the wound.

So that’s what you’re bitter about. That explains it.

what will Cole say about these two articles

    1) Bad journalism?
    2) We’re going to make him vote Republican again?
    3) Your post was snide?
    4) Let’s not play the Blame Game

I missed the game due to a work emergency, but at least I got to hear it on the radio. The boys sounded like they did pretty well.

    I still miss Myron.

Wow, Ben finally decided to be a QB. Last year he just didn’t lose games, until the playoffs. Maybe this year he’ll actually win them.

On a personal note, how bout them NY Football Giants? They actually looked like a professional football team. You know, one of the good ones.
And all without Manning even having to look good.
