Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Stand up, dammit!

“Loving your country does not mean lying about its history.”

“Until such time as the world ends, we will act as though it intends to spin on.”

You are either for trump or for democracy. Pick one.

If you are still in the gop, you are either an extremist yourself, or in bed with those who are.

Republicans are the party of chaos and catastrophe.

“Just close your eyes and kiss the girl and go where the tilt-a-whirl takes you.” ~OzarkHillbilly

Cancel the cowardly Times and Post and set up an equivalent monthly donation to ProPublica.

Many life forms that would benefit from greater intelligence, sadly, do not have it.

They fucked up the fucking up of the fuckup!

Marge, god is saying you’re stupid.

We will not go quietly into the night; we will not vanish without a fight.

Republicans choose power over democracy, every day.

Shut up, hissy kitty!

The desire to stay informed is directly at odds with the need to not be constantly enraged.

It’s all just conspiracy shit beamed down from the mothership.

I have other things to bitch about but those will have to wait.

This is dead girl, live boy, a goat, two wetsuits and a dildo territory.  oh, and pink furry handcuffs.

… pundit janitors mopping up after the gop

Everything is totally normal and fine!!!

The lights are all blinking red.

People really shouldn’t expect the government to help after they watched the GOP drown it in a bathtub.

The next time the wall street journal editorial board speaks the truth will be the first.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

Sorry for the lack of posts, but WVU/Maryland is on and is more important.

Besides. DVD’s show up at Jeff Goldsten’s place. All I get from you cheap bastards is grief. You can all go to hell.

And yes, I am just kidding. I am serious about this game being more important than this blog. At least for right now.

Frankly, I can’t think of anything that isn’t more important than this blog. Heheh. Just kidding. Woof Woof!

Better than any piddling tip-jar jingle, I’ll give you the Five-Star, Gold-Plated, “Mac Buckets Lock of the Year®,” guaranteed winner of the Steelers-Texans game!

Steelers (-6 1/2) and the over. My Texans are in sad shape right now, and they have trouble with speedy backs. Parker will go for about 150 and two scores, and Ben-to-Ward and a defensive score make it 31-17.

This guaranteed winner is not to be construed as a guarantee. Mac Buckets’ “Lock of the Year” is not an actual functional lock — it’s a metaphor, and not a particularly good one, although it has been correct an astounding 46% of the time. Your wager relieves Mac Buckets, and his parent company, Global Chemical Weaponry Products, Inc., of any and all legal responsibility for the inevitable loss of your money.

    Good Luck!

    John,

The preview pane does “fine print,” but it doesn’t carry through to the actual post. How am I supposed to deceive consumers if I can’t use fine print? I’ll never get this handicapping (sorry, “differently abling”) business off the ground!

And to quote Homer Simpson, “Also, I forgot to ask for any money.”

Goldstein has dancing armadillos and mocks Pandagon incessantly. That is why he gets the DVD’s.

Actually, John, I have a question along the line of Mac Buckets. The preview pane permits ol and li html constructs, which make for nice numbered and bulleted lists. The blog itself strips them. Do you think that’s fixable?

(I’d offer to help, but I know nothing of the code behind moveable type. Sorry.)

How ’bout that Notre Dame / Michigan State game? That was the most enjoyable college game that I’ve seen in……..in…….a week.

Sunday goes to the pros. Here’s to Raiders stomping Kansas Shitty tomorrow night!!! And earlier in the day in Philly, I hope the 49ers stick a yard marker so far up Terrell Owens’ ass that he’s begging for Jeff Garcia to “stop making it hurt”.

OK, that was crude….but what the hell.

Ummm… I mock Amanda of Pandagon all the time. Does that mean I should be expecting the occasional DVD for mocking half of the Pandagon crew?

Just kidding. I don’t even have a tip jar on my blog, so why would I expect something. Bloody hell, I’ll be happy if I can break 200 visitors per week and a comment thread of over 5. Not to mention making someone’s blogroll. That would really be a nice tip.

Oh, and by the way. John, would you care to give a thought or two about your favorite Senator (the Byrdman, of course) and that whole Constitution Day thing? By now, the game should be over with.

As Yogi would say (yeah, I’m mixing sports but stay with me):

    Remember one word:

    Patrick White

Saw him play in high school. Remarkable. Might be too small, unfortunately, for the next level, but he’s, as they say, something.

Not sure what “something” is. But then I’m not sure who “they” is either.

The Steelers embarrassed Houston but the Panthers lost in the lowest-scoring football game I’ve ever heard of (7-6). So in terms of teams that I care about I’m one for one.

At some point the coach who didn’t start Parker in college has to start feeling pretty stupid.

    Better?

Yep, your guys embarassed my Terps in their own house. WV didn’t look great, but made fewer mistakes against a young MD squad. Ol Ralphy boy is going to have to put a decent team on the field next year or whispers are going to commence.

    Congrats.

He’s probably still celebrating another dominant performance by the Steelers. I cannot describe how much I’m looking forward to the Indy/Pitt game. That’ll be the best game of the year. And those stupid fucking Pats got beat too, by a not-that-great Panthers team. Colts/Steelers AFC title game, here we come!
