Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Too often we hand the biggest microphones to the cynics and the critics who delight in declaring failure.

Giving in to doom is how authoritarians win.

President Musk and Trump are both poorly raised, coddled 8 year old boys.

Stamping your little feets and demanding that they see how important you are? Not working anymore.

The republican ‘Pastor’ of the House is an odious authoritarian little creep.

No Kings: Americans standing in the way of bad history saying “Oh, Fuck No!”

It’s a good piece. click on over. but then come back!!

Not all heroes wear capes.

Impressively dumb. Congratulations.

We are aware of all internet traditions.

Republicans got rid of McCarthy. Democrats chose not to save him.

“When somebody takes the time to draw up a playbook, they’re gonna use it.”

White supremacy is terrorism.

Prediction: the gop will rethink its strategy of boycotting future committees.

Hey Washington Post, “Democracy Dies in Darkness” was supposed to be a warning, not a mission statement.

If you are still in the gop, you are either an extremist yourself, or in bed with those who are.

“What are Republicans afraid of?” Everything.

The republican speaker is a slippery little devil.

They were going to turn on one another at some point. It was inevitable.

So many bastards, so little time.

Republican also-rans: four mules fighting over a turnip.

You cannot love your country only when you win.

He really is that stupid.

Welcome to day five of every-bit-as-bad-as-you-thought-it-would-be.

I don’t know if I ever mentioned this before, but the other day I was having a conversation with one of my platoon buddies from the 11th Cav in the 90’s, and I was reminded that my First Sergeant is now the Sergeant Major of the Army.

No small deal, that. Plus, he is a local, born right near Frostburg.

Damn, one hell of a rank and high honor, that’s for sure. He the type of guy who you figured was destined for good things way back when?

    John,

You should read Mike Yon’s take on the CSM:

    michaelyon.blogspot.com/2005/06/walking-line.html

Read all the “Walking the Line” dispatches. They make a great profile of one intelligent and tough MF. I for one am glad he’s on our side.
