We are builders in a constant struggle with destroyers. keep building.

The low info voters probably won’t even notice or remember by their next lap around the goldfish bowl.

Stamping your little feets and demanding that they see how important you are? Not working anymore.

The unpunished coup was a training exercise.

The current Supreme Court is a dangerous, rogue court.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

WVU came back from down 24-7 in the 4th and won in 3OT, 46-44.

Unbelievable.

And Notre Dame and Penn State lost. I think I died and am in heaven. And the Yankees are out of the playoffs.

Wa-hoo! The game wasn’t televised in Columbus, and I gave up following it on gamecast in the 4th quarter. So later when I was browsing through the top 25 overview on ESPN.com and saw West Virginia on top I almost crapped myself. Incredible. Look at all of the great games with all of the rallies today… this is what college football is about.

    Notre Dame

Don’t know if you saw this one, John, but it’s the one reason I have to root for the Irish this year.

    From ESPN:

Weis asked Montana if there was something he could do for him. He agreed to let Montana call the first play against Washington on Saturday. He called “pass right.”

Montana never got to see the play. He died Friday at his home.

Weis heard about the death and called Mazurkiewicz on Friday night to assure her he would still call Montana’s play.

“He said, ‘This game is for Montana, and the play still stands,'” she said.
    …
When the Irish started on their own 1-yard-line following a fumble recovery, Mazurkiewicz wasn’t sure Notre Dame would be able to throw a pass. Weis was concerned about that, too. So was quarterback Brady Quinn.

“He said ‘What are we going to do?'” Weis said. “I said ‘We have no choice. We’re throwing it to the right.'”

Say what you will about Norte Dame as a school, as a tradition, or even as arrogant bastages. Due to that one story, and for granting a little boy his dying wish regardless of circumstances, I say “Go Irish!”

What a game b/w USC & Notre Dame.

Too bad I waw watching the Astros go up 2-1 on the Cardinals.

It’s our year. Ya gotta believe!

Man, I was really rooting for Notre Dame too. Playing USC in a bowl gaming is going to be, like, hard and shit. But my god that was a close game. That last crazy dive into the endzone by USC with the goal-line stop and 7 seconds left. Totally batshit crazy. Oh man. Kinda sad really, the USC/ND game had more impact on Texas than our Colorado takedown did.

And of course, it’s worth noting – Go ‘Stros! :)

Yeah, now let’s see how the Steelers do with both Ward and Roethlisberger out…

And here I thought that the greatest comeback ever would be Judy Miller’s not remembering which source gave her “Valerie Flame”.

Meanwhile, this weekend was crap for me from a sports perspective.

Penn State lost at the last second of the Michigan game, followed by USC surviving the Irish – I wanted ND to win to knock off an unbeaten at that point.

Then, the Steelers lose in craptacular fashion. Blech. Not heaven here.

Penn State lost not only the game, but also lost Derrick Williams for the season with a broken arm.

I don’t know that there’s many fellow Penn State fans at this site, but I would like to tell them to stop bitching about the officiating.

The coaches screwed up by not kicking the ball away from Breaston on the last kickoff, and a defense that is supposed to be one of the best in the country couldn’t stop Michigan when they had to.

Yeah, there were some bullshit calls, but every team has to deal with them from time to time.

Big Deal. UCLA came back from down 38-21 in the fourth quarter on the road and only needed one overtime.
