Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Our job is not to persuade republicans but to defeat them.

There are more Russians standing up to Putin than Republicans.

Baby steps, because the Republican Party is full of angry babies.

Come on, man.

This has so much WTF written all over it that it is hard to comprehend.

We’re watching the self-immolation of the leading world power on a level unprecedented in human history.

The willow is too close to the house.

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

We know you aren’t a Democrat but since you seem confused let me help you.

Something needs to be done about our bogus SCOTUS.

Is it negotiation when the other party actually wants to shoot the hostage?

America is going up in flames. The NYTimes fawns over MAGA celebrities. No longer a real newspaper.

I swear, each month of 2025 will have its own history degree.

Live so that if you miss a day of work people aren’t hoping you’re dead.

Sadly, media malpractice has become standard practice.

Books are my comfort food!

Quote tweet friends, screenshot enemies.

“But what about the lurkers?”

Thanks to your bullshit, we are now under siege.

There are a lot more evil idiots than evil geniuses.

If a good thing happens for a bad reason, it’s still a good thing.

Dear media: perhaps we ought to let Donald Trump speak for himself!

Republican speaker of the house Mike Johnson is the bland and smiling face of evil.

That was the worst game since Kordell.

I can’t even get mad, it was so awful. That must be what it is like to be a Houston Texans fan.

The Cowboy’s are showing signs of life this year. I just probably jinxed them, though. Damn.

Even good teams can have a lousy day, John. Hang in there.

Oilers fan. You mean Oilers fan. The Texans barely register as a blip on my radar. You greedy fan of a team with multiple Super Bowl victories. It’s Week 6, for Chrissake.

Scary, isn’t it? A football game the ‘Hawks might actually have to work to lose.

    The ‘Hawks aren’t that bad…

Mr. Cole, as a Bears fan I can tell you that the “worst game since Kordell” was quite a feat, but the Bears managed it many times.

After being a Seahawks fan for way too long, all I can say is, go ‘Hawks!
From our point of view, it was a lovely game, hope to see more like it…

    John-
I mentioned the Steelers game, and I was kind. Tommy had a bad day, to put it mildly. I’m a Broncos fan, but once upon a time I was a Steelers fan. Even Bradshaw screwed the pooch occasionally.

Actually, if you were a Texans fan, those 17 points that the Steelers scored yesterday would’ve been considered an offensive explosion.

I think after five games, the Texans have a total of 50 points.

So you are feeling bad about your respective teams?

    I am a Vikings fan.

    Enough said.

Hey John, remember back when Maddox was all pissy because he was the lowest-paid starting quarterback in the NFL? Think Steelers fans are starting to remember why that was now? Ugh.

I was talking to a friend of mine who is a Bears’ fan and tried to explain just how badly Maddox played. The best I could come up with (in terms he could appreciate) was that he played like Cade McNown if McNown had been stabbed in both eyes and had all of his limbs broken with a tire iron. I think that about sums it up.
